<abstract><p>Background: The emergence of MDR-TB is a threat for the populations of resource limited countries. In Ethiopia multidrug resistant tuberculosis is becoming a challenge, because of poor adherence to treatment, TB/HIV co-infection, and a few diagnostic and treatment facilities. Objective: The main aim of this study was to assess prevalence and associated factor for multidrug resistant tuberculosis among smear positive TB patients Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted among TB patients treated at DOT’s clinic at Debre Markos Referral Hospital from September 1, 2015 to March 10, 2017.
