The study presents an effort made to impact universities, organizations and local actors with an epistemological and practical tool to carry out knowledge management and innovation for Local Agricultural Development in the Municipal University Center (CUM) Camajuaní. Its objective is to evaluate the impact of the implementation of a knowledge and innovation management model for local agricultural development. The methodology used responds to the need to determine the impact of the Model as a conditioning factor to achieve local agricultural development. As a result, a Model emerges in the research process that is implemented in knowledge management and innovation for local agricultural development. The Model is implemented in the subject Agricultural Extensionism where didactic sequences of teaching tasks of increasing complexity are applied that contribute to the formation of the studied competence. The subject affects the training of the student to seek solutions to problems and achieve competitive productions with high added value. Students of agricultural sciences are trained with knowledge, skills and values that make up the competence studied and allowed them to analyze the needs of the producer and promote participatory dynamics and analyze the needs of local agricultural development and innovate. The process is carried out on the basis of shared knowledge and analysis of the socio-productive reality. The environment of the productive units is observed and research instruments are applied to identify their strengths and weaknesses. The explicit and motivated demand of the producers is defined. The implementation of the Model made it possible to achieve transformations in teachers and students who acted locally as key actors that promoted transformations in higher education to respond to their social mandate. With the validation of the Model, the advantages of its design and implementation can be verified based on the improvement of knowledge management and innovation. The implementation of the Model achieves impacts in the Camajuaní municipality, endorsed by its authorities.
