<abstract><p>Even though the femicide crisisin Ciudad Juarez began 30 years ago, it was not until 2008 when the city became the most dangerous location in the world. As a result, the city experienced hundreds of homicides; but men were not the only ones targeted since women also participated in this struggle for power. The methodology used in this article is a documentary inquiry that aims to review the femicides as a second reality, a concept created by Rita Segato. Segato proposes that the drug war femicides acquire a gender element when the gangs use the female body to manifest their revenge.</p></abstract>

<p>Even though the femicide crisisin Ciudad Juarez began 30 years ago, it was not until 2008 when the city became the most dangerous location in the world. As a result, the city experienced hundreds of homicides; but men were not the only ones targeted since women also participated in this struggle for power. The methodology used in this article is a documentary inquiry that aims to review the femicides as a second reality, a concept created by Rita Segato.
