When philosopher Francisco Bosco attended Caetano Veloso’s Ofertório concert, he described it as “the most beautiful civilizational project.” Taking this remark as its point of departure, this essay engages interdisciplinary debates on masculinity –particularly the work of Paul B. Preciado – to argue that, within today’s supra-identitarian landscape, diversity, hybridity, and feminization emerge as powerful forces for social progress and democratic coexistence. Rather than treating masculinity as a stable identity, the essay reads Caetano Veloso’s artistic practice as a queer strategy of desubjectivation that unsettles hegemonic gender norms and imagines new forms of collective life.
