<p>The jeans garment industry plays a vital role in generating employment, promoting entrepreneurship, and supporting regional industrial development. Despite its growing contribution to the economy, the industry continues to experience several operational challenges that may affect its productivity and long-term sustainability. Against this background, the present empirical pilot study investigates the major problems and growth prospects of the jeans garment industry in Ballari City. A descriptive research design was adopted, and primary data were collected from 30 jeans garment manufacturing units through a structured questionnaire. The reliability of the research instrument was evaluated using Cronbach’s Alpha, while descriptive statistics, Pearson’s correlation, and multiple linear regression were employed to analyse the data using IBM SPSS Statistics and Microsoft Excel. The findings indicate that labour and skill-related issues, technological constraints, and financial problems remain the major operational challenges, whereas technological advancement and sustainable practices are perceived as the most promising growth prospects. Although the inferential analysis did not establish statistically significant relationships between the study variables, the pilot investigation confirmed the reliability of the research instrument and established a sound methodological foundation for the main study.</p>
