<p>Over the past few years it has been discussed about the reasons why the population of Haiti decided to emigrate during the period 2009 and 2019; however, most documents give importance, mainly, to the earthquake from 2010, without making reference to other reasons. Similarly, these documents have focused primarily on the analysis of the Haitian migration to the United States and the Dominican Republic and even to countries in South America, like Chile; leaving aside the study of Canada. What is more, it has been disregarded that by 2019 this country was positioned as the third option for Haitians, which equals 6,28%. That is why, the present work shall analyze the causes of the Haitian migration into Canada taking into account both the variety of factors as well as the migration policies regarding them.</p>
