<abstract><p>Education is seen as a sector that determines the economic development and welfare of a country. Higher education in Albania is relatively new. Nowadays there are 38 Higher Education Institutions (HEI) that operate in Albania, of which 15 are public and 23 are private HEI. The aim of this research paper is to study the differences on performance perception between public and private Albanian HEI. In this study it is used the factor analysis, the reliability analysis and the discriminant analysis. According to the factor analysis and the reliability analysis there are 9 factors that drive the performance of the HEI. There is a significant difference on some factors of performance perception between public and private HEI in Albania.</p></abstract>

<p>Education is seen as a sector that determines the economic development and welfare of a country. Higher education in Albania is relatively new. Nowadays there are 38 Higher Education Institutions (HEI) that operate in Albania, of which 15 are public and 23 are private HEI. The aim of this research paper is to study the differences on performance perception between public and private Albanian HEI.
