<p>This study was carried out to access the determinants of farmers’ participation in food market in Odeda L.G.A. of Ogun state. Simple random sampling technique was used in the selection of the respondents and a well structured question was used to gather information on the determinants of farmers’ participation in food market. A total of 100 questionnaires were administered but only 70 could be retrieved and subjected to analysis. The analytical technique includes descriptive statistics and Probit regression analysis. The result shows that the average age was 45yrs. Probit analysis shows that the major determining factors influencing farmers participation in the market were age, marital status, source of labor, farming experience, farm size, and which were significant at p≤0.05 and p≤0.01 respectively. It is therefore recommended that government should intensify efforts through the extension agents in organizing programs which will enhance farmers’ participation in market through training, disseminating market information and better utilization of farmland.</p>
