In this paper I deal with one of the most famous philosophical discussions in the history of the West, the link between the concepts of reason or rationality and emotion. The importance of this old discussion has to do with the way in which we still construct today the image of ourselves, this is the question of how we should understand ourselves. There is no doubt that this has repercussions for our lives, for the way in which we educate ourselves and deal with other members of our community. The task I undertake here does not claim originality, but it represents one more effort in the reflective work, in which it is proposed not only not to question our emotional dimension but to pay more care and attention to the ways in which we deal with the construction of our identity as persons.
