Only consenting women who presented for hemoglobin and malaria tests were included in the study, with data taken from the consultation booklet or directly from their examination reports. The tests were carried out using a Mindray-BC 3000 photometer and hemocue. Of the 67 women, 50 presumed to be anemic were included in the study.</p>
