Code of Ethics
At Global Journals®, our mission is built on trust, excellence, and integrity. Our Code of Ethics defines core principles and expectations for all individuals involved in the scholarly publishing process, authors, editors, reviewers, staff, and partners. By embracing these principles, we protect the credibility of research and uphold our role as a responsible publisher.
Responsibilities of Authors
- Submit only original, unpublished work (unless appropriately cited and disclosed)
- Disclose all relevant funding, affiliations, and potential conflicts of interest
- Provide accurate, complete, and verifiable references
- Declare any use of AI or automated tools (see our AI policy)
- Cooperate fully with inquiries into potential ethical issues
Core Ethical Principles
Integrity and Honesty
All participants must act truthfully in every stage of research, review, and publication. Misrepresentation, false claims, data manipulation, or any form of deceit are unacceptable.
Respect and Fairness
All authors, reviewers, and editors should be treated with respect regardless of their gender, nationality, institution, race, or discipline. Decisions should be based solely on scholarly merit, free from bias, discrimination, or retaliation.
Transparency
Disclosure of conflicts of interest, funding sources, institutional affiliations, and other relevant details must be clear. Procedures, policies, and decisions should be visible and accessible.
Responsibilities of Editors
- Make decisions based solely on scholarly merit, relevance, and adherence to ethical standards
- Avoid handling manuscripts with potential conflicts (e.g. their own work, colleagues, or affiliated institutions)
- Maintain oversight and integrity of the peer review process
- Respond transparently and fairly to ethical concerns or misconduct allegations
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- Accept review assignments only if qualified and free from conflict
- Provide constructive, objective, and timely reviews
- Maintain confidentiality of manuscripts, data, and author identity
- Disclose any conflicts of interest
- Avoid using AI tools to analyze or summarize unpublished manuscripts without explicit permission
Handling Ethical Breaches
When issues arise, we follow a clear, fair, and documented process
Initial evaluation
The editorial office reviews the concern and determines if further investigation is needed.
Inquiry and response
Involved parties (authors, editors, reviewers) are given the opportunity to respond or explain.
Decision & action
Based on findings, possible actions may include correction, retraction, rejection, banning future submissions, or reporting to institutions/funders.
Transparency
Any correction or retraction is published with a clear explanation. The scholarly record remains preserved, with links to notices.
Commitment to Evolving Standards
Ethical expectations evolve as publishing systems and technologies (such as AI) change. Global Journals® is committed to ongoing review, adaptation, and improvement of our ethics policies. We follow international best practices, including guidance from COPE and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing. We encourage all participants to familiarize themselves with this Code and to always act in ways that uphold trust, fairness, and excellence.
