Video Highlight
At Global Journals®, we understand that some of the most compelling research cannot be conveyed by text alone. Our Video Highlight page offers a dynamic visual platform – bringing key published works to life through short, engaging video presentations that go beyond the written word.
Why Video Highlights Matter
- Instant Engagement - A well-crafted video captures attention in ways traditional text cannot, helping your research reach wider audiences including practitioners, media, and the public.
- Accessible Communication - Videos make your work understandable beyond your discipline, translating complex findings into visual stories and clear language.
- Enhanced Impact - Visual summaries drive broader sharing, higher visibility, and better uptake of research into policy, practice or interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Global Reach - With our global-community focus (130+ countries), video highlights help transcend language and regional barriers to showcase scholarship worldwide.
What You’ll Find Here
- Featured Video Highlights - Selected articles from our journals are paired with short videos (typically 2 - 4 minutes) that summarise the research, results and implications in a visually compelling way.
- How-to Guide for Authors - Step-by-step resources for crafting a video highlight: scripting, filming, editing, captioning, and maximising reach.
- Video Archive - A browsable collection of all video highlights, filterable by discipline (science, technology, medicine, engineering, social sciences).
- Submission & Support - Information on how you, as an author, can produce a video highlight with our editorial/production assistance, or have one created for your published paper.
Creating an Effective Video Highlight
- Here are our recommended best practices, drawn from research-communication guidance:
- Keep it short and focused - Aim for ~2-4 minutes; shorter formats retain attention more effectively.
- Make it clear and engaging - Start with the problem the research addresses; use plain language, visuals (charts, photos, animations) and a logical flow of “what we did → what we found → why it matters”.
- Accessibility matters - Include subtitles or captions, clear voice-over, and ensure audio/visual clarity so global audiences and non-specialists can follow.
- Call to Action - At the end, tell viewers why they should read the full article, share the work, or implement its findings, linking to the published paper
- Optimize for sharing - Use a compelling title, embed options, shareable link, and consider short teaser versions for social media or institutional outreach
Why Global Journals® Emphasises Video Highlights
- We align with rigorous standards (through our affiliation with Open Association of Research Societies and the Committee on Publication Ethics guidelines) but also recognise that the value of research lies in its communication and uptake.
- By offering video highlights alongside traditional publication, we enhance the transparency, accessibility and reach of your work, and support our mission to empower researchers around the world.
- This approach helps break down disciplinary and geographic silos: a video from a researcher in India, for example, may inspire an engineer in Africa, a clinician in South America or a policymaker in Europe.
How to Submit a Video Highlight
- 1. After your article has been accepted or published, review the “Video Highlight Author Guide” and determine whether you will create the video yourself or request production support.
- 2. Submit a short script or outline that includes:
- The research question or problem
- Methodology in plain language
- Key findings
- Implications & who benefits
- A call to action (e.g., read full article, implement research)
- 3. Film/edit the video (or collaborate with our production team) ensuring high-quality audio/visuals, subtitles, and embedding capability.
- 4. Provide the final video file (MP4 preferred), transcript/captions, and metadata (title, authors, article link).
- 5. We will embed the video on our site, promote it across our global channels, and link it to the original article and impact summary.
