Abstract

The feed self-sufficiency rate of livestock in our livestock management is 25%, which is the lowest in Asia, and most of it depends on imports. Among them, pig farming, which feeds large amounts of grain feed, is particularly low at 14%, and the soaring feed price is a problem for Japanese livestock farmers due to poor harvests in grain exporters and vigorous purchases by other countries. While it is an importing power, domestic food waste is a serious social problem with a large amount. We tackled this problem by thinking that the method of stable livestock management regarding the global feed situation is to effectively utilize food waste with a high amount of water and use it for livestock.
