Between National Security and New Roles: The Latin American Armed Forces as a Political Actor
Dr. Gustavo Eduardo Ordóñez Martínez is a Latin America focused political and security expert. He completed a PhD in Political Science and a Master’s Degree in International Security Studies at Toulouse I Capitole University (France). His research focuses on developments relevant to national security, armed forces, terrorism and organized crime in Latin America. He has published in these themes in journals such as Institut Français des Relations Internationales (Ifri) and the Academia Nacional de Estudios Políticos y Estratégicos (ANEPE). He has been interviewed on television and been invited to participate in seminars and conferences in Mexico and France. Since 2021, he is an affiliate at the Mexican National Institute of Public Administration (INAP).
