Background: Inguinal hernia is common surgical problem in paediatrics and incarceration is the most common subsequent complication if left untreated. The fact that there is effect of the socioeconomic factors on development of incarceration in form of delayed presentation. Objectives: To determine the relation between socioeconomic status and development of incarcerated inguinal hernia among children presented to (GNCPS). Results: 43 case presented with incarcerated inguinal hernia within the study period those <5Yrs were 40 (93,0%) from 5-10 yrs were 2 (4,7%) while 1 (2,3%) was more than 10 yrs. We have 42 male and 1 female patient the waiting time for surgery was 3 months in 14 (32,6%) while it was 3-6 months in 10 cases (23,3%) and more than 6 months in 19 (44,2%).
