Withdrawal (pre-publication):
- Removal of a submitted manuscript from editorial consideration before publication.
Post-publication actions:
- If an article has already been published, the appropriate remedy is typically a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the issue.
General Principal
- A withdrawal request is not automatic. It is reviewed and confirmed in writing by the editorial office.
- Until written confirmation is issued, the manuscript remains under consideration and must not be submitted elsewhere.
- Withdrawal requests may be paused or declined if there is an active integrity or ethics review.
Who can request withdrawal
- The corresponding author must submit the request.
- The corresponding author must confirm that all co-authors have been informed and agree to the withdrawal.
- If authorship is disputed, the journal may require written confirmation from all authors before processing the request.
