Some Specific Features of Abbreviations using in Medical Terminology in English and Uzbek (On the Example of Dermatovenereological Vocabulary)

Abbreviations are frequently used in medicine. They can be found in hospital documentation, medical papers and case reports. Abbreviations are short and serve to save time, but misunderstanding can cause serious outcomes. The article discusses the lexical and semantic features of medical terminology and medical abbreviations of the English language as a means of lexical objectification of the medical concept sphere.
