A Banquet for Divinities the Food that becomes an Offering in the Candomble
This article providesan analysis ab out the presence of food in CandomblΓΒ© rituals,basedon a study of off erings for African deities. Understanding the sociability relations present between food, the orixΓΒ‘ andtheCommunity are the central point ofthiswork, which presents a reflectionon studies on food andreligion, as well as ananalysis about the kitchen of the orixΓΒ‘s,seeking to underst and the dynamics of this space during the realizationofe offerings. The study analyzed the relationship between food andcandomblΓΒ© ritualsfromthe perspective oftheorists Marcel Maus andNestor GarcΓΒa Canclini, who, withtheir concepts of Gift and Cultural Hybridism, contributed to the reflection of the proposed theme.
