Dr. Malaya Kumar Nath is an accomplished academic and researcher currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Science, Engineering & Technology (SET) at the National Institute of Technology Puducherry, Karaikal, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati in 2017, following an M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the same institution (2008) and a B.E. in Electronics & Telecommunication from Biju Patnaik University of Technology (2003). His research interests span signal processing, image processing, computer vision, pattern recognition, and artificial intelligence, with a specific focus on medical imaging—including non-invasive fetal ECG analysis, retinal disorder detection, and vision degradation assessment—as well as agricultural applications like disease classification from paddy fields. Dr. Nath has an impressive publication record with 95 works, accumulating over 2,060 citations, an h-index of 24, and an i10-index of 43.
