Dr. Martha Estela Pérez is a Professor at the Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, specializing in Social and Political Science. With a PhD in Social Sciences, she has contributed significantly to research on feminicides in Ciudad Juarez, as evidenced by her works 'Second Reality Feminicides in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua' and 'Case Study of La Candidata'. She has published over 30 papers (10 international, 21 national) and serves as a peer reviewer for the Global Journal of Human-Social Science (GJHSS). Her research interests include social sciences, and she has supervised 8 scholars and led 5 research projects.

Second Reality Feminicides in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua
Even though the femicide crisisin Ciudad Juarez began 30 years ago, it was not until 2008 when the city became the most dangerous location in the world. As a result, the city experienced hundreds of homicides; but men were not the only ones targeted since women also participated in this struggle for power. The methodology used in this article is a documentary inquiry that aims to review the femicides as a second reality, a concept created by Rita Segato. Segato proposes that the drug war femicides acquire a gender element when the gangs use the female body to manifest their revenge.
