HOUSEHOLD CONSUMPTION OF CASSAVA PRODUCTS IN OYO STATE
This paper analyses household consumption of cassava products in Oyo State using Almost Ideal Demand
System. Information on different type’s cassava products consumed by the household was obtained using a multistage random technique. The result showed that demand for gari and fufu are elastic than demands for lafun meaning that lafun is a price inelastic cassava products. Expenditure elasticities of all the cassava products were examined and were found to be less than one. The highest expenditure elasticity is found for fufu suggesting that its demand will grow faster than the demand for other products as the economy develops and income increases.
