Abstract

This article discusses how the social transformations related to the expansion and changes of the capitalist system affect the dignity and human value of the elderly, from the economic, productive, functional, and social aspects. The theoretical approach was used to design this work, which resulted in the close relationship between the capitalist model’s growth to its parasitic form and the phenomenon of social discard of the elderly population.
