Abstract

This article had the purpose to analyze the rural land valorization of a major Brazilian city in coffee production in the period of expansion of coffee production into the northeast of São Paulo state at the end of the 19 th century. In this research, we aimed to understand the value of the lands and the impact of land improvements and of coffee plantations on the prices of rural lands.
