The introduction of new management practices has become a real imperative for any company; it is more for SMEs because these companies are vulnerable and have a specific management mode, based on the personality of their leader. Moreover, in a constantly changing environment, the performance of any company is now based on this new situation. However, while innovation in general, and managerial innovation in particular, has been successful in the Western context, that of the African context remains unclear and does not seem to be a major concern, especially in sub-Saharan Africa. Therefore, this article proposes a reflection on managerial innovation and the performance of SMEs in Cameroon. By seeking to specify and quantify the degree of influence of managerial innovation on the overall performance of SMEs, the study establishes, through an econometric approach with a sample of 163 Cameroonian SMEs, a positive and significant link between both concepts.
