Abstract

The study aimed to identify the important obstacles that limit opportunities for gender equality in Palestinian universities and applied to the five branches of Al-Quds Open University in Gaza Strip, the researcher relied on the descriptive analytical approach and used the structured interview as main tool for the study with an intentional sample consisting of (22) of female university employees The study concluded a set of results, the most important of which were: – The percentage of female employees who did not obtain their rights in training courses [ 40.9% ], the female employees who did not participate in committees or councils throughout their work period was 36.3%, in terms of prizes and rewards showed Consequently, the highest percentage which reached 63.6% for female employees who did not receive any incentives throughout their period of work at the university, also the representation of women in leadership positions was very weak as the female employees who did not assume any leadership position was [ 63.6% ] even though sex did not constitute an obstacle to them Upon appointment at a rate of [77.2% ].
