Abstract

Epilepsy is a neurological alteration that affects 2% of the people in Ecuador; moreover, it has many oral manifestations and the periodontal zone it is the most affected. The main objective of this study was to identify periodontal’s manifestations in epilepsy patients who are been attended at Epilepsy National Center in Ecuador through a cross-sectional study of 44 patients who approved the inclusion criteria. A periodontal examination and epidemiological oral morbidity index (Oral Hygiene of Greene-Vermillion and O’Leary’s Biofilm) were performed on each patient.
