Topics Related to Armed Conflicts Worked on by the Main Organs of the United Nations Organization in the Last Decade and their Effectiveness in Maintaining International Peace and Security
The original objective of the conclusion of the Charter of the United Nations, the constitutive treaty of the United Nations Organization, was to maintain international peace and security. This organization has gained great relevance over the decades, since most of the States have been carrying out actions under its parameters, such as, for example, deciding that their international disputes be resolved by the International Court of Justice. However, after more than three-quarters of a century of the UN’s existence, armed conflicts still exist. In this article, the topics covered in the last 10 years by the main UN bodies in the field of armed conflicts will be analyzed and the effectiveness that these works have had in terms of maintaining international peace and security will be analyzed in order to provide certain recommendations for a better result.
