Our social initiatives strengthen connections between scholarship and society, and help bridge gaps in access, capacity, and impact.
Key Social Programs & Commitments
Research & Capacity Building in Underserved Regions
We run programs to support scholars in underrepresented countries or institutions through training, mentorship, grants, and access support. These efforts help build local research capacity and foster equitable participation in global scholarship.
Open Knowledge & Community Access
We participate in open content sharing efforts, such as author sharing, repository links, or special open access collections, to increase the reach of published work beyond paywalls, especially to practitioners, NGOs, students, and public audiences.
Thematic Outreach & Public Engagement
We partner with educational institutions, governmental bodies, and civil society to host webinars, seminars, and public dialogues on pressing issues like climate change, public health, equity, and social justice. Through these activities, we bring research into conversation with societal challenges
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Actions
As an extension of our DEI commitments, we support social inclusion by
- Encouraging submissions from marginalized regions, minority groups, and early-career researchers
- Running waiver or sponsorship programs for authors with limited resources
- Promoting underrepresented research topics that address social needs
Partnerships with Nonprofits & NGOs
During submission, authors should submit copies of permission letters, license text, or screenshots
Scholarship & Fellowship Programs
We provide fellowships, travel grants, or publication fee waivers for deserving researchers, particularly from regions with less funding, so they can share their work and engage in global discourse.
