Here are our recommended best practices, drawn from research-communication guidance:
- Keep It Short and Focused : Aim for approximately 2 to 4 minutes, as concise formats retain attention more effectively.
- Make It Clear and Engaging : Begin with the research problem, use plain language and visuals such as charts or animations, and follow a logical structure of what was done, what was found, and why it matters.
- Prioritize Accessibility : Include subtitles or captions, clear voice-over, and strong audio-visual quality to support global and non-specialist audiences.
- Include a Call to Action : Conclude by encouraging viewers to read the full article, share the research, or apply its findings, with a link to the published paper.
- Optimize for Sharing : Use a compelling title, provide embed options and shareable links, and consider shorter teaser versions for social media or institutional outreach.
