An Experimental Investigation of Performance of Composite Brake Pads
This project work on new material selection for friction pad. New pollution less brake pad, and also increases the performance, durability, weight reduction was developed using Glass fibre, Jute fibre, Basalt fibre. Disc brakes are used for reducing speed without losing braking stability, controllability and their ability to provide a wide ranging torques. The literature study found that the currently used material asbestos is harmful due to its carcinogenic nature. The experimentation involves the use of different samples of composite materials which is performed on pin on disc apparatus where friction reaction against load, speed, temperature and wear are studied and the improved result is discussed.
