Connecting In-Service Teacher Education with Teachers Classroom Associated Problems
This paper is a reflection upon issues of in-service teacher education courses by connecting them, with teachers’ problems that they face in actual classroom environment. It is a revision of literature where the author after reviewing the literature and discussing about methods and material of in-service courses, researcher’s commentary on current teachers’’ in-service programs, and discussing about reflecting scope f in-service programs and by teachers’ concerns about improvement of these programs, the researcher has proposed a model based on teachers’ concerns and problems that they face in classroom environment. Generally teaching content of in-service courses is designed by funding agency or by course instructors and they generally taught content relating to teaching methodology or explaining some concepts of new curriculum. They ignore teachers’ classroom related problems like students learning and behavioural problems. Therefore, the author developed model has implications for designing of in-service courses of secondary level teachers.
Discrepancy in Results of Boards and Entry Test at College Level
The study aims at measuring discrepancy of various boards’ examination BISE and educational testing and evaluation Agency (ETEA) in KPK. The population of the study consisted of all the Boards of Intermediate & Secondary Education in KPK and all the intermediate level students who have appeared in both the above-mentioned examinations. The sample of the study was 541 students. These students were randomly selected for those who had obtained 60% and above marks in both the examinations during the sessions 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008- 09. The data collected was organized, analyzed, interpreted and tabulated. The study found no significant relationship between the marks scores in board examination and in entry test.
Chinese and Pakistani Teachersa Perspectives about Quality Oriented Education of China
The topic of the present study was “Chinese and Pakistani Teachers’ Perspectives about Quality Oriented -Education of China†The present study aimed to appraise the quality-oriented education models of China and to find out the possibility of their implementation at primary level in Pakistan to improve the quality of education. It was a descriptive study and data for the study was gathered through administration of a questionnaire. The data for the study was collected from Chinese and Pakistani primary school teachers. Findings depicted that there were no significant differences in the opinions of the Chinese and Pakistani primary school teachers. In the opinions of the teachers of both countries independent model of quality oriented education is the best for primary level education. Teachers of both countries favoured independent model of quality oriented education and were not in favour of creative model, they did not give importance to feelings of student in learning processes and did not identity their problem in learning environment. It was recommended that as the Primary School Teachers of China and Pakistan are in favour of independent model of quality oriented education. The primary education system of both counties may follow this model for primary level. Teachers of China and Pakistan may be trained to teach in real context providing students chances of discuss, creating interest in teaching learning process, using playful activities for learners.
Perception of Visually Impaired Youth about Familial, Academic and Caregivers Support
The present study was an endeavor to explore the perception of visually impaired about familial, academic and caregivers support. Study aimed to explore the difference in the perception of support of visually impaired youth living in the residential institute. A questionnaire consisting of 28 items was develop through standardizes procedure and used for data collection. The sample of the study was consisted of 100 students. Among them 28 were boys and 22 were girls, ages ranged from 15 to 22 years, they belong to different socioeconomic status. The present study unfold various aspects of familial, academic and residential life of visually impaired male and female students, experienced lack of social support by caregivers; visually impaired male students experienced most of problems due to non cooperative attitude of caregivers; students who stay longer hours in hostel face more difficulties; students who are receiving higher education face more problems as compared to students of secondary and intermediate level. Study indicates that visually impaired students perceived lack of social support due the people those are near to them. Finding of the study confirm that the performance and attitude of caregivers are not satisfactory, moreover residential facilities are also not enough. On the basis of results, it is suggested that the excellence of family unit and institutional psychosocial support may provided to visually impaired students because it play a vital role for their successive achievement and success in practical life.
