Analysis of Trending Hi-Tech and Software Industry in Bangladesh

Hi-Tech/Software Technology parks are being developed in many countries to create an efficient work environment for knowledge based industrial development. Major aim of these technology parks is to attract foreign companies to set up operations and to transfer the indigenous technological capability for the development of the local industries. The aim of this work is to find out factors that influence technology park development and a suitable strategic framework for successful implementation of Hi-Tech (HTP) and Software Technology Park (STP) in Bangladesh. For this study Analytic Hierarchy Process is applied as a Multi-Criteria Decision-Making Method (MCDM) which is a technology assessment tool. The assessment has been conducted by considering infrastructure, strategic & business support & governance as criteria and basic facility, digital facility, social facility, research & strategic facility, industrial chain & innovation facility, capacity development, policy support, operational modality, and park management as sub criteria. IBM SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software also used for identifying the key variables. At the end operational modality-based process is suggested for HTP/STP development.

Cost Effective Digital Water Billing System

People, mainly in developing country are not aware about the pure water problem around the world. This paper focuses on water uses and wastage in developing country.It shows an automatic water measuring and billing system. Implementing high end technology for developing country like Bangladesh is very difficult. So a very cheap and cost effective water billing system is being introduced in the paper to save water for future.

Analysis of Exhaust Emission of Vehicles in Dhaka City of Bangladesh

Mega cities in South Asia are an epitome of traffic snarls and resulting vehicular pollution. Dhaka, a center of polity and economy in Bangladesh, is no exception. This study is focused on the measurement of air pollution levels at traffic congestion and road in Dhaka City. The aim of this paper is to discuss the vehicle engine emissions and the technologies and methodologies available to help reduce these emissions. It has been revealed that the pollution level at traffic congestions has considerably improved due to the large scale introduction of CNG vehicles in Dhaka city. Vehicle exhaust emission level assessment data show that Dhaka city is exposed to high concentration of CO, NOx and SOx. Some recommendations for air pollution control in Dhaka city are also incorporated in the paper.

Green Electricity Generation: Prospective Analysis on Proposed Padma Bridge, Bangladesh

Energy is one of the indispensable inputs for the existenceof human being in the earth.The socio-economic development, industrialization and civilization of any country depend on reliable energy supply. Great deal of effort is going on for energy generation mainly for finding eco-friendly energy sources. Natural gas, coal and petroleum products are facing pressure of rapid diminishing to meet this increasing energy demand. Meanwhile wind and hydro power have less possibility in Bangladesh. Nuclear power can be a huge source of clean energy. But huge investment with high end technology along sophisticated maintenance and danger of possible accident makes it very difficult and vulnerable for a country like Bangladesh. Solar shows good prospect. But piezoelectric materials, a potential source of power harnessing, can be utilized effectively in a developing country like ours. This paper outlines the electricity generation from highway using piezoelectric materials. Proposed Padma Bridge, linking the south-west of the country to northern and eastern regions, is the place for implementing the proposed project. All calculations are focused on this Bridge but this project can be implemented in any roadside too
