Correlation of Antibody Level in Covid-19 Recovered Plasma Donors with the Clinical Parameters
Objectives: To correlate the antibody levels in Covid-19 convalescent plasma donors with the clinical parameters. Methods: 30 Covid-19 recovered and RT-PCR negative plasma donors serum samples were screened for the presence of anti-HIV 1 and 2 antibodies, anti-HCV antibodies and, HBsAg by Chemiluminescence and ID-NAT. Routine hematological investigations were performed and Covid-19 antibody levels were monitored using Elecsys Anti-SARS-CoV-2 kit. Donors with antibody level ˃ 1.0 were considered reactive and fit to donate convalescent plasma. Results: Seventeen cases with the mild disease had Covid-19 antibody levels of 1.1 to 30.0 with the duration of stay in the ward from 0-7 days. The most common symptoms were fever, dry cough, sore throat, lethargy, hyposmia, and shortness of breath of varying severity.
