Effect of Audit on Profitability: A study of Cement Listed Firms, Pakistan
An audit is an independent examination of financial information of an organization. Audit helps us to detect errors and frauds at early stage and gives true views about financial information. This study is based on secondary data which is collected from annual audited reports of the firms. Regression method is used for analysis; SPSS & MS Excel is tools of analysis. Conclusion of the study is, there is positive effect of an audit committee on firm’s profitability ratio and on firm’s performance.
A Study of Job Stress and Job Satisfaction among Universities Faculty in Lahore, Pakistan
Job is an essential part of life. Quality of life is affected if one is not satisfied with the job. Stress on job can actually affect the efficacy & efficiency of a person. This research paper examined the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction among the faculty members of universities in Lahore, Pakistan. Variables used to assess the level of stress and satisfaction includes management role, workload pressure, role ambiguity, and performance pressure.Questionnaire was used to extract the information. SPSS 16.0 was used to analyze the data. Results concluded that employees highly satisfied with their jobs (13.5%) or who were highly stressed on their jobs were few (2.5%); most of the employees were however averagely satisfied on each variable used in questionnaire to assess the level of job stress and job satisfaction.
Impact of Foreign Direct Investment on Gross Domestic Product (A Case of SAARC Countries)
This paper investigates the impact of foreign direct investment on Growth (GDP) of SAARC countries. This relationship is tested by applying multiple regression models. The change in GDP is taken as dependent viable while FDI and inflation are considered as independent variables. The data used for this is ranging from year 2001 to 2010 of SAARC Countries. The result shows that the overall model is significant. There is a positive and significant relationship between GDP and FDI while an insignificant relationship between GDP and inflation.
Decision to Adopt the Academic Program
The purpose of this study was to examine attitudes of the students toward adoption of the academic program. A 19-item questionnaire was adapted to collect data on the decision by the students. This study is based on primary data, which collected from 154 students from 4 different University of Lahore District, Pakistan. For this purpose self designed questionnaire was used for data collection.. Cranach-Alpha reliability is 78% and 95 % students done matriculation in science subjects. Majority of students decided their graduation degree himself. 77% students decided about their professional degree themselves. 20.3 % students feel undue pressure from their parents to undertake academic related decision. 80.5% students out of 20.3% feels that pressure of their parents are in their favor and 19.5% feels that the pressure was not in their favor and they feel that if they were given freedom to select their academic decision, they would be at better place in their life and concluded that positive impact of decision making on academic achievement. After thorough analysis it concluded that mostly students take their academic decision themselves and females have less decision making power as compare to male because Pakistan being as a Muslim Country doesn’t given freedom to females to make decision regarding any issue of their life.
