Endometriosis, a disease of unknown etiology, remains a cause of significant morbidity in reproductive age women resulting in chronic pelvic pain. Several mechanisms could explain the relationship between endometriosis and pelvic pain, and are potential targets of therapies. Endometriosis-associated pain can be treated with medical therapies or surgery, both conservative and radical. The medical therapies induce a hormonal steady state that results in an environment not conducive for endometriosis development. Surgical therapies for endometriosis-associated pain include conservative treatments such as removal of endometriotic implants, nodules, and adhesions with restoration of normal pelvic anatomy. Radical surgery involves removal not only the uterus with or without of the ovaries in patients who have completed childbearing, but also all residual pelvic lesions.
This work investigates ICTs and its crucial role in ameliorating knowledge acquisition in general and enhancing English Language mastering in particular. There is an assessment of the level of applicability of the level of ICT tools in facilitating English language teaching/learning amongst final year students in Anglophone secondary schools in Cameroon. It further emphasises the use of ICTs and heightens awareness of the crucial role ICTs play in ameliorating learning in general and language in particular. Findings in this study reveal that ICTs are not employed in our school system to enhance language learning. The work concludes by recommending the implementation and use of ICT tools in the fostering of English language teaching/learning.
Bangladesh has been relying heavily on public debt to meet its budget and balance of payment deficit since independence. This study examines how public debt in Bangladesh may influence its economic growth. For this purpose two models, Investment model and Growth model, have been used in this study. The investment model has been used to investigate the potential indirect effect of public debt on economic growth through its impact on investment. In the growth model direct relationship between public debt and economic growth has been examined. The study period is 1974 to 2014. Augmented Dickey-Fuller test has been used to diagnose whether time series data are non-stationary. A TSLS regression is run to estimate those models. The estimated results show that public debt is positively related to both investment and economic growth. The empirical findings also suggest that public debt has an indirect positive effect on growth through its positive influence on investment.
In many study the data are taken different period of time and the information about them is gathered relating to an event of concern at different time periods. The data are taken different time period are correlated. Regression analysis based on the Generalized Estimating Equation (GEE) is an increasing important method of such data. The Generalized Estimating Equation is an important and widely used approach in such analysis. Since the true correlation is unknown GEE offers to take a working correlation for analysis. In our study we consider four common correlation structure namely, independent, exchangeable, pair wise, autoregressive. In the study the data are taken from the Dhaka stock exchange (DSE) this data are highly correlated. At first we apply different methods of estimating parameter the we apply GEE for estimating the parameters. Finally we get the GEE gives better estimate than any other method.
Zooplankton is an integral component of ecosystem and comprises of microscopic animal life that passively float or swim freely. This serves the functional role on the detrital spectrum in water. Chenugonipally Peddacheruvu tank is one of the irrigation tank. It is a small size tank, located between 16.23° N latitude and 77.8° E longitudes in Gadwal Mandalof Mahabubnagar district in Telangana state. Present work has been conducted on zooplankton analysis samples were collected at 30 days of interval between 7 am to 9 am for a period of two years from July 2012 to May 2013 and from July 2013 to May 2014. During the study period total40 species of zooplanktons were identified belonging to 5 groups, among all 19 species were observed during the 1st year (2012-2013), while 21 species of zooplanktons were recordedduring the 2nd year (2013-2014) study. At all the four stations during first year study the dominance of the zooplankton species as follows ;Rotifera > Copepoda > Cladocera > Ostracoda >Protozoa. Similarly during second year study the dominance of the zooplankton species as follows; Copepoda > Cladocera > Rotifera > Protozoa > Ostracoda.
In this paper, we have investigated the relation between idempotent order and norm topological structures. We have discussed about the relation between real order topology and idempotent order topology and we have also established the relation between real order topology and norm topology.
The capital budgeting decision is one of the most important financial decisions in business firms. In this case, Dashen Bank Share Company (DBSC) is considering whether to invest in a system to modernize its local money transfer services. To determine if the project is profitable, DBSC must first determine the weighted average cost of capital to finance the project. The simple payback period, discounted payback period, net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), and modified internal rate of return (MIRR) techniques are used to study the profitability of the project. MIRR is a relatively new capital budgeting technique, which assumes that the reinvestment rate of the project’s intermediary cash flows is the bank’s cost of capital. The stand- alone risk of the project is evaluated with the sensitivity analysis and scenario analysis techniques assuming that the new system would not affect the current market risk of the bank. The case gives students an opportunity to use the theoretical profitability and risk analyses techniques explained in their financial management module and related tutorial classes in a real- world setting. The case is best suited for Master of Business administration, Master of Accounting & finance, Master of Project Management students and is expected to take approximately four to five hours to complete. The case is moreover; very useful for Ethiopian Students for thinking how they can make capital decision in Ethiopian context. Similar case study were previously developed by Meric et al., is used as a base for development of this case in Dashen bank Ethiopian with its original in nature and different solution keys context. It is teachable to students in Ethiopia and elsewhere in the world. This review of Finance case Studies is very useful for understanding the concept of Cost of capital and Capital budgeting techniques.
Background: The Iraq suffers from a high burden of noncommunicable diseases (NCD). Iraqi people have a high prevalence of child obesity, adolescent and adult obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancers among its adult population. Objective: To identify knowledge, attitude and practices relating to modifiable noncommunicable disease (NCD) risk factors regarding medical staff that includes doctors, dentists and pharmacists. Methods: the study conducted from January 2015 to December 2015, the study was carried out by using questionnaires. Data were analyzed using SPSS statistical software version 20. Overall 70.2% of the participants reported no practiced physical exercise. High proportions of both males and females no practiced of physical activity, especially physical activity in their leisure time. However, the percentages of daily vigorous, moderate physical activity were low for both males and females. Low proportions of males and females reported daily intakes of fruits and vegetables.
This paper investigates for a value effect in Egyptian firm returns using three different ways to determine value by sorting firms based on their past long-term returns (long-term contrarian), the book-to-market ratios (BE/ME), and the percentage changes in their BE/ME ratios (change). These three strategies are approaches commonly used to measure for value effect. Using sample period from January 1997 to April 2014, this study provides a strong evidence of an inter-firm value effect with three measures. The long-term return contrarian and BE/ME, produce significant abnormal raw returns of 2.18% and 2.01%, respectively. On the other hand, the percentage changes in their BE/ME provides weakly significant profits of 1.08% per month. This paper also shows that the value profits generated by all three alternative value strategies in Egyptian stock market can be explained by three-factor model.
Background: Squamous odontogenic tumour (SOT) is a rare benign locally infiltrative epithelial neoplasm of periodontium. The tumour originate from rests of Malassez, gingival surface epithelium or from remnants of the dental lamina. Tumour may present as painless swelling or toothache and tooth mobility. Case Report: We report a case of 35year male presented with swelling in anterior mandible and recurrent gum bleeding an unusual site and unusual presentation. Conclusion: Being a rare tumour SOT should be differentiated from other similar looking tumour i.e. acanthomatous ameloblastoma, SOT like islands arises from cystic wall and many others for definite therapy.
