The seeds of sixty hybrids along with ten parents generated during Rabi, 2009 were evaluated for heat tolerance and earliness during Summer, 2010 in a Randomized Block Design along with national check PH-6 in three replications for C.G. plains. Heterosis analysis was carried out for days to 50% flowering, days to first picking, plant height, number of primary branches per plant, average fruit length (cm), average fruit girth (cm), average fruit weight (g), total number of fruits per plant, number of fruits per plant per picking, marketable fruit yield per plant, total fruit yield per plant and total soluble solids (%). Highest standard heterosis was shown by IBWL x PPC (46.86%) followed by GL x PPL (46.13%), MK x IBWL (42.44%), PPC x WBPF (41.62%) and WBPF x PR (40.96%) for total fruit yield per plant.
Reinforced Concrete (RC) buildings designed for IS 456-2000 have been found to be weak in adequate seismic design provisions, capacity design considerations and detailing for ductile behaviour. Experimental tests RC frames have shown that the excessive damage or failure of beam-column joints, in particular exterior (or corner) joints which can lead to the global collapse of a building. The poor joint behaviour of older construction can be attributed to the inadequate shear reinforcement in joint region and the deficient anchorage details into the joint region. Recent evaluation of Civil Engineering structures has demonstrated that most of them will need major repairs in the near future. Up gradation to higher seismic zones of several cities and towns in the country has also necessitated in evolving new retrofitting strategies. One of the techniques of strengthening the RC structural members is through confinement with a composite enclosure. This external confinement of concrete by high strength fibre reinforced polymer (FRP) composites can significantly enhance the strength and ductility as well as result in large energy absorption capacity of structural members .FRP materials such as basalt, glass and hybrid fibre, available today in the form of sheets, are being used to strengthen a variety of RC elements to enhance the flexural, shear and axial load bearing capacity of elements.
Several author as Agashe and Chafle [1], Sengupta, De. U.C, Binh [4] and many other introduced semi symmetric non metric connection in different way. In this paper we have studied LP sasakian manifold with special semi-symmetric recurrent metric connection [2] and discuss it exientance in LP sasakian manifold. In section 3 we establish the relation between the Riemannian connection and special semi-symmetric recurrent metric connection on LP sasakian manifold [4]. The section 4 deals with ξ–conformaly flat and ∅ concircularly flat of n dimensional LP sasakian manifold and we proved that ξ–conformaly flatness with special semi-symmetric recurrent metric connection and Riemannian manifold coincide.
The research has carried out to introduce Six-Sigma philosophy in Bangladesh, especially in Manufacturing Industry. To show the technical pathway of implementing this technique in our industries for improving the productivity and quality was the main concern of this paper. Present Sigma Level is calculated as a part of the framework and total factors, which are directly related with the process, are taken under calculation. At the same time all the process related to production are clearly observe. As a whole, the total improvements of production system by implementing the Six-Sigma tools were our research goal. A Fan Manufacturing Company was our research area where it has possible to analyzed and implemented. In the thorough procedure, DMAIC is used as technical tools for developing the process. Finally, by changing the traditional layout to balanced layout model as per DMAIC approach, remarkable improvements have been achieved
The purpose of this study is to test the reliability and validity of Metacognition Scale (MS) developed by Demir (2012) with a view to identifying perceptions of Education Faculty students regarding metacognitive activities. The participants of the study are 250 randomly chosen students who attend three different departments in Kafkas University Education Faculty. The data were analysed through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis to enhance the construct validity. Internal consistency (Cronbach Alpha) co-efficiency was evaluated for the reliability of the instrument. A 14-item instrument with “evaluation”, “organization” and “planning” sub-dimensions was developed as a result of the analyses conducted. Cronbach Alpha internal consistency co-efficiency that explains 53.074% of the total variance was found .87 for the first factor, .65 for the second factor, .70 for the third factor, and .89 in total.
Drip Irrigation Method is the best method that has been used in the world among the other irrigation methods because of its good and high uniformity. This method distributes water to the field using the pipe network and transforms it from the pipe network to the plant by emitters. In spite of the advantages of drip Irrigation method, the traditional network in drip irrigation method has many problems. The main problem is the drop in pressures and discharges distribution in the network resulting from the amount of pressure losses between the head of the lateral as compared with that in the end of the lateral. This drop affects the discharge distribution of emitters and uniformity. The research studies the improvement of emission uniformity of emitters by using new system layouts instead of the traditional system. The first proposed system layout concluded to improve the hydraulic performance by improving the pressure of distribution in the system by connecting the ends of the laterals together in the subunit. For further improvement, a carrier (close pipe convey the water) near the source to the lateral ends has been added to the looped network to represent the second proposed system (looped with carrier network) traditional network in drip irrigation method has many problems. The debate over what content and methods should compose the mathematics education of children has been an omnipresent contested discourse in the mathematics education terrain. In today’s schooling regimes, the push for accountability and the movement towards a culturally-coded, standards –based curriculum seem to cripple every earnest attempt at rejuvenation and redemption of democratic access to educational opportunities and resources for learners. The abysmal inequalities we witness in schools and societies worldwide have been complicit in creating a rather apocalyptic vision of the future of education as a practice of engagement and empowerment. With a longstanding history that imbibed racial demarcation and reductionist positioning, the quest for liberation through transformative education endeavors appears as if a figment of pure imagination. In the face of intensified challenges that transcend national geographic boundaries, we seek refuge and inspiration by revisiting the works of crucial thinkers such as bell hooks who reminds us of the ultimate goal of education, viz. praxis of humanization and liberation.
Alterations in ventricular depolarization are recognized to lead to inverted T-waves which manifest once the ventricular activation returns to normal. This phenomenon referred to as ‘T-wave memory’ or ‘electrotonic modulation’ may be caused by several clinical conditions producing a shift in ventricular depolarization. Currently, T wave alternans (TWA), either macroscopic or microscopic refers to the beat to beat alteration in the repolarization heterogeneity that repeats with every other beat without changes in the QRS complex. We present the case of a 43-year old man with symptomatic intermittent pre-excitation who underwent 24-hour Holter monitoring revealing TWA secondary to electrotonic modulation. It is assumed that this phenomenon does not carry any prognostic significance.
This paper provides core understanding about phenomenon of migration to big cities from coastal villages of Bangladesh. It describes major push-pull factors, how migration contributes to reduce or increase vulnerabilities and impacts of migration. The paper also depicts lives and livelihoods scenario of five study villages. Livelihood sources of coastal communities particularly agriculture and fisheries are climate sensitive. This micro level study examines how coastal people perceive climate change on their various activities, cross-seeking it with scientific shape, and their responses to climate change. Findings reveal that many migrants are enforced to move in response to changes in conditions (or in their perception of conditions) at the places of origin.
This paper empirically investigates whether the cross-country Islamic banks’ financial performances are immune by the global financial crisis (GFC). Banks’ financial performances—the pre GFC and the GFC period—are measured by return on assets (ROA). The comparison of mean and the median return on return on asset (ROA) show that Islamic banks’ ROA prior to GFC were 0.031 and 0.012 respectively and they were 0.01 and 0.12 respectively during the GFC.The significance of the parametric mean test,- t-test, and non-parametric median test,- Kruska-Wallis, and Mann-Whitney demonstrates a significant difference between the mean and the median performance of Islamic bank during the pre GFC and the GFC periods. This difference suggests that Islamic banks’ financial performance is not immune from the GFC.
