The purpose of the paper is to establish the long run relationship between gross domestic product (GDP) and energy consumption in India. This is known that energy plays a vital role for all the economies and the relationship relates to levels and changes in economic development approximated by GDP. Literatures also reveal that the greater is region’s GDP, the greater is the energy consumption. The data of three decades (1981-2011) has been taken for analysis and results are analyzed in the software package Stata/SE10.0. The time series analysis is used to develop conceptual framework, which includes testing of stationary using unit root test, Granger causality, cointegration and error correction mechanism (ECM). On applying cointegration, it is found that two variables are co-integrated of order one (I~ (1)). The Granger test results confirmed the existence of unidirectional causality running from electricity consumption to economic growth. The same has been verified by ECM approach and a long-run relationship has been developed. This implies that over time higher electricity consumption in India give rise to more economic growth. The proposed framework and results draw a rough road map with much accurate estimations for national policy strengthening in the future to assess the sustainability in Indian energy sector.
Image retrieval system is an effective and efficient tool for managing large image databases. A content based image retrieval system allows the user to present a query image in order to retrieve images stored in the database according to their similarity to the query image .In this paper content based image retrieval method is used as diagnosis aid in medical fields. The main objectives of this paper is to reduce the noise from an medical image with the use of Bayesian algorithm .Various algorithm are define in CBIR but we can use Bayesian algorithm to reduce the noise from an image . Bayesian algorithm provide the feedback and improve the performance of an image retrieval by using the resultant MSE(mean square error) and PSNR(peak signal to noise ratio).
This paper presents condition monitoring in wind turbines, and related technologies currently applied in practice and under development for aerospace applications, are reviewed. Condition monitoring system estimate the current condition of a machine from sensor measurements, whereas prediction systems give a probabilistic forecast of the future condition of the machine under the projected usage conditions. Current condition monitoring practice in wind turbine rotors involves tracking rotor imbalance, aerodynamic, surface roughness and overall performance and offline and online measurements of stress and strain.
This paper presents the calculation of uncertainty of measurement to determine total phosphorus in water by spectrophotometric method. For evaluation of uncertainty I identified all sources of uncertainty affecting the value of the measurement, and I have classified the important sources of uncertainty in type A and B. These were quantified and then I prepared the budget of uncertainty.
Online Social Networks (OSNs) are inherently designed to enable people to share personal and public information and make social connections with others. These OSNs provides digital social interactions and social as well as personal information sharing, but in sharing a number of security and privacy problems raised. While OSNs allow users to restrict access to shared data, they currently do not provide any mechanism to totally enforce privacy issue solver associated with multiple users. To this end, we propose an approach to enable the protection of shared data associated with multiple users in OSNs. We formulate an access control model to capture the essence of multiparty authorization requirements, along with a multiparty policy specification scheme and a policy enforcement mechanism. Besides we also implement a proof-of-concept prototype which is called as MController (multi controller) having contributor, stakeholder and disseminator controllers along with owner controller.
The paper focuses on the design and synthesis of hardware chip for Spatio and Viterbi encoding and decoding techniques. Both techniques are used for digital data encoding and decoding in transmitter and receiver respectively. These techniques are used for error control coding found in convolution codes. Spatio coding is also used to eliminate crosstalk among interconnect wires, thereby reducing delay. The encoded data is in packet form may be of ‘N’ bits. Data is decoded at different clock pluses at which it is encoded. A comparative analysis is done for hardware parameter, timing parameters and device utilization. Design is implemented in Xilinx 14.2 VHDL software, and functional simulation was carried out in Modelsim 10.1 b, student edition. Hardware parameters such as size cost and timings are extracted from the design code.
This paper aims to explore and understand the factors that affect the internet banking adoption among postgraduate’ students in International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).Approach- Semi-structured interviews with eight informants; four adopters and four non-adopters on postgraduate’ students were conducted to explore this issue. The results revealed that adopters and non-adopters realized that internet banking (IB) has several benefits and conveniences. However, non adopters were concerned about some factors like trust, ease of use, awareness and security. The results also showed that adopters had positive influence on use of online banking and they did not have problems with these factors because they had sufficient knowledge and experience in using online banking. This study has several limitations such as the sample used for the study was from a specific group of respondents in Malaysia (postgraduate’ students at IIUM). The second limitation was that informants were postgraduate ’students who had limitation on banking transactions. The findings are important to enable bank executives to have a better understanding of clients’ perception to adopt internet banking. This will help banks’ managers and owners formulate strategies that could significantly affect IBA among their customers.
Interleukin-10 (IL-10) is an important anti-inflammatory cytokine increasing with exercise. It is stated in the literature that the increase of IL-10 after exercise may be related to muscle damage. Creatine kinase (CK) is a dimeric protein whose plasma levels are increasing especially in muscle pathologies. At the same time, it is known that it increases relating to the muscle damage caused by exercise. In this study planned, it shall be researched there is IL-10 and CK values before and immediately after the exercise according to Bruce protocol. Moreover, the changes in white blood cells shall also be examined. Those who are convenient for the test were elected from 30 healthy voluntary males in the same age group who do sports amateurly and who don’t do sport. The subjects were applied to exercise test on a treadmill according to Bruce protocol, and the blood samples were taken into heparinize tubes before and after the exercise. Evaluations were made in biochemistry and microbiology laboratories. While IL-10 levels did not change in sedentaries after the exercise (P>0,05), it decreased in sportsmen (P<0,05). CK values increased in both of the groups after the (P<0,01). No regressional relation was found between IL-10 and CK values in both of the groups. The Bruce protocol we applied increased CK and leukocyte levels in sportsmen but decreased plasma IL -10 level significantly.
The research attempts to gain insight in to the role of a sample population of women employed in different occupations, in balancing work and life in Tamil Nadu, India. The emphasis is primarily on professionalism and was carried out by conducting a survey among respondents who were first generation women earners. Data were collected by (clusterrandom) sampling along with semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire. The data was studied and analysed in order to explore and portray the sensitivity of women and their perceptions of the society as well as to highlight the values, attitudes and beliefs of women in the formal work organizations and primary family system. The findings revealed that role conflict, lack of recognition, organizational politics, gender discrimination, elderly and children care issues, quality of health, problems in time management and lack of proper social support are the major factors influencing the WLB of women professionals in India.
Within the last few years there has been a rapid increase in the utilization of aluminium-silicon alloys, particularly in the automobile industries, due to their high strength to weight ratio, high wear resistance, low density and low coefficient of thermal expansion. The advancements in the field of application make the study of their wear and tensile behaviour of utmost importance. In this present investigation, Aluminium based alloys containing 12% weight of Silicon were synthesized using Centrifugal casting method. In case of this centrifugal process the molten metal is poured in to the mould rotating at different rotational speeds. The centrifugal force helps in feeding and positioning metal in the mould. The product produced by centrifugal casting has a good quality, dimensional accuracy as Centrifugal casting results in denser and cleaner metal as heavier metal is thrown to parts of the mould away from the centrifugal action removes unwanted inclusions, dross, cleaner casting, and material that contains shrinkage, which can be machined away. Study of microstructure has showed the presence of primary silicon. Hardness is compared with the different casting speeds. Tensile tests were carried out with universal testing machine. Yield strength and ultimate tensile strength are studied for different rotational speeds. Wear behavior was studied and resistance to wear is analyzed. The worn surfaces were analyzed.
