India is in the midst of the restaurant revolution. The revenues hotel and restaurant industry in yr.2006-2007 increase of nearly 22 %...The eating habits of people are changing; the style of cooking and the ingredients used increased the popularity of Indian food all throughout....... Indian food had experienced a tremendous change, people started following cooking style and adopted eating habit according to their religion. At present Indian food is recognized all over the country...service quality is an attitude or global judgment about the superiority of a service, industries must achieve a quality service the exceed customer, expectation .service quality determine an organization success or failure, the satisfaction is a function of consumer, experience and reaction to provide behavior during the service encounter. The level of satisfaction may be influence by various attitudes from internal, external factor. The demand for food away from home is dramatically increasing. According to the 2003/04 Indian Household Economic Survey, the average weekly household expenditure on meals away from home increased from $13.80 in 2000/01 to $19.20 in 2003/04 (Ministry of Health, 2006). The growth of demand for food has prompted an expansion of the Indian foodservice industry. The national foodservice industry annual sales rose from $3,176 million in 2002 to $4,800 million in 2007- a nominal Growth of 51 percent.
The purpose of this experiment is to find out whether language affects the likelihood of bystander intervention. In society, there is a lot of linguistic prejudice and bias against people who do not speak the native language (Gluszek, 2010).The experiment took place in a park, in which one confederate pretended to have a sprained ankle and the researcher was far away recording the results. The subjects were adults who passed by the scene, and they were debriefed afterwards. Results showed that the likelihood of bystander intervention was greater when the victim asked for help in English, as opposed to a foreign language (Albanian). When the victim was asking for help in English, about 68% of the bystanders intervened and about 32% did not intervene. However, when the victim was asking for help in Albanian, about 53% intervened, and 47% of the bystanders did not. The total number of subjects was 180 bystanders. Overall, the likelihood of bystander intervention was greater when the victim speaks English.
The theoretical and phenomenological status of negative energies is reviewed in Quantum Field Theory leading to the conclusion that hopefully their rehabilitation might only be completed in a modified general relativistic model.
Global warming, the gradual increase in Earth’s temperatures and associated changes in global weather pattern, has had serious consequences in recent decades, constituting one of the major global issues of our time. This review highlights the sources of global warming, the country origins of Green House Gases (GHGs) emissions, the nexus between global warming and human activity, the costs of climate change drawing on findings on agricultural activity and, finally, policies to tackle global warming. The consequences of global warming still remain a subject of debate and speculation, but climate change studies hypothesize dire consequences for agricultural productivity and disease incidence globally, but especially for countries located nearer the tropics where temperatures are bound to rise higher.
This study examined the effectiveness of assertiveness training and marital communication skills. The moderating effect of length of marriage and number of children were also investigated. The study adopted pre-test, post-test control quasi-experimental design wish 3 x 2 x 2 factorial matrix. Multistage sampling technique was used to select 84 participants; representing 42 married couples who were selected from the three local Baptist Churches of the three Baptist conferences in Lagos. The comprehensive marital satisfaction scale r = 0.98 was the research instrument used. One (1) hypothesis was tested at 0.05 level of significance using Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and Duncan post hoe test. The study revealed that there was a significant main effect of treatment on marital satisfaction (F2, 31 = 19.96, p>0.05) Marital community skills group obtained the highest adjusted post-test mean score on marital satisfaction (X = 396.29), while the least score was obtained by the control group (X = 342.91). Based on these findings therefore, counselling psychologists, marriage counsellors and other professionals working on marriage should make conscious efforts to adopt marital communication skills and assertiveness when managing marital problems and associated challenges. Would be couples should also be expose to the two therapist.
Right to good health is also a fundamental human right. Healthcare and well being must be achieved equitably for all. But the achievement of such an equitable access to healthcare for all is prevented by unsolved and newly emerging problems like demographic shift to ageing population, poverty, environmental degradation, economic crisis in many developed countries, and emergence of new types of epidemic diseases and so on. To overcome these unsolved and newly emerging problems and thereby achieving the equitable access to health care for all, governments, public sector organizations and social entrepreneurs have worked together to integrate health and healthcare into their policies. Such an integrated healthcare policy is focused in the present paper i.e.,Yeshasvini Cooperative Farmers Healthcare Scheme, a micro insurance health scheme, launched in 2002 for millions of farmers and their families in Karnataka, belonging to various State Cooperatives, by Government of Karnataka, pioneered by a reputed social entrepreneur Dr.Devi Prasad Shetty and his team at Narayana Hrudayalaya, Bangalore. Under this scheme even poor can avail of top-class health care at a minimal cost. Social entrepreneurs are the change agents, who facilitate for the societal transformation in order to provide benefits to the poor and marginalized populations. The various social entrepreneurs in the private health care sector like Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital of Cardiac Care, Arvind Eye Hospital, Shantha Biotech Lab and Water Health International play an important role in providing healthcare to the poor people.
This paper presents a new approach to the velocity and acceleration analyses 3DOF parallel manipulators. Building on the definition of the „acceleration motor‟, the forward and inverse velocity and acceleration equations are formulated such that the relevant analysis can be integrated under a unified framework that is based on the generalized Jacobian. A new Hessian matrix of serial kinematic chains (or limbs) is developed in an explicit and compact form using Lie brackets. This idea is then extended to cover parallel manipulators by considering the loop closure constraints. A 3- PRS parallel manipulator with coupled translational and rotational motion capabilities is analyzed to illustrate the generality and effectiveness of this approach.
Parenting styles and its impact on adolescents’ psychosocial development has been an area of interest in the field of psychology. Previous studies have revealed that parenting styles are correlated with adolescents’ self-esteem, drug and alcohol use, delinquency and academic performance. This study aimed to investigate the effect of parenting styles namely authoritative, authoritarian and permissive on adolescents’ self-efficacy level. A hundred and twenty students served as participants for this study. The mean age for the entire sample was 18.441 and had an equal number of males and females. A single survey was administered and data on perceived parenting styles and ratings on self-efficacy were collected. Correlation was carried out and results indicated that authoritative parenting style is highly associated with self-efficacy. Regression result showed that authoritative parenting style contributes 12.8% towards student’s self-efficacy. However, authoritarian and permissive parenting styles do not produce any significant relationship when associated with self-efficacy. T-test comparison revealed a significant difference of self-efficacy among the males and females. The male students demonstrated higher level of self-efficacy as compared to the females. This study is significant because it allows helping professionals to gain a better understanding on the relationship between parenting styles and self-efficacy.
Ten millions more are killed and debilitated by a host of mosquito-borne diseases, including filariasis and dengue. One alternative measure of control involves the use of entomopathogen, Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt)—a gram positive spore-forming soil bacteria that produces δ-endotoxins, which make-up the crystalline inclusions as part of its metabolic process. In this study the local isolate of Bt was identified through its morphological and biochemical characteristics and was tested for toxicity against Aedes aegypti and Culex quinquefasciatus larvae. With concentrations 0.5, 1.0, and 3.0% of Btspore-crystal complex, samples were subjected to 24, 48, and 72h of exposure. In both species, the 72 h of exposure showed a mean difference of significance at the 0.05 level. Since the crystal proteins bind specifically to certain receptors in the insect’s intestine, certain processes require a longer span of time to exhibit their effects on the mosquito species. Hence, the activity of Bt with respect to span of incubation had a significant effect on A. aegypti and C. quinquefasciatus larvae. Also, the results differed with respect to the species of tested mosquito.
Fossil fuel resources are decreasing daily while biodiesel fuels are attracting increasing attention worldwide as blending components or direct replacements for diesel fuel in vehicle engines. This study investigated the physicochemical properties of oils extracted from Jatropha, neem, moringa and castor seeds for their suitability in biodiesel production. This is with a view to compare which of the oils has better functional properties for a quality biodiesel production. Our results has shown that all the oil from the plants seed study, have good physiochemical properties and are very good precursor for biodiesel synthesis.
