Many of the current Indian medical information and emergency systems are still paper-based and stand alone systems that do not fully utilize the Internet, multimedia, wireless and real time technologies. This project work focuses on developing an integrated Emergency, Healthcare, and Medical Information System (IEHMS) that can overcome many of the problems in the current systems. The main aim of this work is to incorporate the real-time technologies with medical emergency systems. Our proposed system can offer: SMS, MMS, Phone call, Email. A prototype for the proposed system is implemented using open source tools. The system will revolutionize the delivery of emergency medical services, like ambulance, first aid etc, The call center of Emergency Management and Research Institute took up the case and identified the exact location where the patient had collapsed. When attending a call, the user check for the similar calls and search for the ambulance which is located to that area and ambulance is staffed by:  One driver  One helper  One experienced paramedic  One trained medical officer, if required For efficient medical monitoring of the patient’s condition, the institute has qualified personnel with knowledge and skills sufficient to evaluate and stabilize patients with potentially lethal or disabling conditions.
Agile methods are Group of software development methodologies based on iterative development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing cross-functional teams. Today, the debate continues again about how much agile method worth? Is it really true that the software development in agile way have real advantages? As Craig Larman said as foreword in Patterns of Agile Practice Adoption, The Technical Cluster writes by Amr Elssamadisy”: “Many confuse the heart of ‘Agile’ with practices rather than values; yet the essence of Agile methods is the four values ". The agile Manifesto describes four values, which sustain all the methods agile. This article with the help of a survey conducted in a poll of the "agile practitioners" will demonstrates until where the agile values influences the production software in a study of 3 factors : Team, Usage and Organization.
This study explored the conflict model of decision making (Janis & Mann, 1977) in relation to culture, attachment style, religiosity, patriotism, and nationalism. Two groups of university students from Australia (n=135) and Singapore (n=159) were invited to participate through the use of a web survey. Vigilant decision making was higher and hyper-vigilant decision making was lower for Australian than for Singaporean respondents. Vigilant decision making was negatively related to avoidant attachment style and blind patriotism, while positively associated with constructive patriotism and civic content nationalism. Vigilant decision making was predicted by gender (female), low avoidant attachment style, civic nationalism and constructive patriotism. Hyper-vigilant decision making was positively related to anxious and avoidant attachment style, external religiosity, blind patriotism, traditional and civic nationalism, while negatively related to constructive patriotism. Hyper-vigilance was predicted by gender (female), anxious and avoidant attachment style, and extrinsic religiosity. Buck-passing was positively associated with anxious and avoidant attachment style, and civic nationalism. Buck-passing was predicted by anxious and avoidant attachment style and by civic nationalism.Procrastination was positively related to anxious and avoidant attachment style and was predicted by country (Singapore), and anxious and avoidant attachment style. These results are explained in terms of decisions that are made around the world that may have broad ramifications, including those relating to positions on refugees and terrorism.
The Internet and computer networks are exposed to an increasing number of security threats. With new types of attacks appearing continually, developing flexible and adaptive security oriented approaches is a severe challenge. Intrusion detection is a significant focus of research in the security of computer systems and networks. The security of computer networks plays a strategic role in modern computer systems. In order to enforce high protection levels against threats, a number of software tools are currently developed. In this paper, we have focused on intrusion detection in computer networks by combination of fuzzy systems and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. Fuzzy rules are desirable because of their interpretability by human experts. PSO algorithm is employed as meta-heuristic algorithm to optimize the obtained set of fuzzy rules. Results on intrusion detection dataset from KDD-Cup99 show that the proposed approach would be capable of classifying instances with high accuracy rate in addition to adequate interpretability of extracted rules.
This menace needs thorough probing whereby national money is remitted abroad thus depriving national exchequer for meeting its people’s lawful needs. These unlawful acts of Heads of State, Government and high functionaries including agencies leave the country’s economy in dilapidated conditions. This money is snatched through kick-backs and unfair means which we may discuss later on. This issue is not only that of Pakistan rather it is faced by most of the third world countries. This needs eradication on national as well as on international level. Civil society, judiciary, print and electronic media can play pivotal role for money laundering stoppage. This study is about the awareness of money laundering by businessmen; salary persons include government employees, lawyers, MNA’s, inspectors. This cross sectional study was conducted from March 2012 to May 2012. A group of 51 persons took part in this study through a predesigned questionnaire which consists of five parts to meet the objectives, awareness, affects, laws, re-use of money laundering and corrective actions and we conclude that money laundering, an evil, can be eradicated through strict laws, government will to prevent, banking control with international help for the return of laundered money to its native country.
The slipper bearing is an integrated part of an axial piston pump. Proper lubrication is important for successful operation of the slipper bearing. This type of bearing is a type of hydrostatic thrust bearing. Many works have been done in the recent past on this type of bearing. This current work is based on the theoretical investigation of the locus of the load centre of this type of bearing. The leakage losses and the slipper drag are two important factors on which this type of bearing is designed. The load carrying capacity has a direct impact on those two factors. On the other hand the stability of the bearing depends upon the position of the load centre. There are many input factors on which the position of load centre is varied. These input factors thus play an important role on the smooth operation of such bearing. Such input variable are slipper tilt, applied pressure on the slipper, slipper speed, slipper non flatness angle or slipper land size. On the variation of these input variables, the nature of the position of load centre is plotted in this work. Based on the results the reasonable conclusions are made.
To verify the pollen rain in offshore locations where there is no vegetation, two shallow sites – approximately 15km (20m water depth) and 43 km (61m water depth) – offshore eastern Niger Delta were aeropalynologically sampled and studied. Improvised pollen sampler made of a cylindrical tin of 5cm diameter was used with diluted formalin solution as the medium and sited on a stationary vessel. Collected samples were subjected to acetolysis and recovered palynomorphs studied microscopically. Eight pollen genera were recovered from the proximal site while five genera were found in the distal site. Pollen population is higher in the proximal than distal sites. Large sized pollen of Sida sp. is seven times higher in number in the proximal than the distal sites. Fungal species - cf. Alternaria and cf. Cladosporium - spores and hyphea as well as mycelia of other fungi were recovered along with charred Gramineae cuticles. This scenario of pollen settling from the air is similar to that from water currents. The proximal area has higher proportions and the larger ones settle first. The study confirms pollen rain as important contributor to marine sediments in the Niger Delta with implications for paleoclimatology, palynostratigraphy and allergy sensitivity.
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a promising technique for high data rate wireless communications because it can combat inter-symbol interference caused by the dispersive fading of wireless channels. A FDM channel is like water flow out of a faucet, in contrast the OFDM signal is like a shower. In a faucet all water comes in one big stream and cannot be subdivided. OFDM shower is made up of a lot of little streams. The demand for high speed mobile wireless communications is rapidly growing. OFDM technology promises to be a key technique for achieving the high data rate capacity and spectral efficiency requirements for wireless communications of the near future which was a source of motivation for this project. Here in this paper, we simulate a cyclic prefix OFDM system with Binary Phase Shift Keying Modulation on each subcarrier. CP-OFDM system includes a repetition code and interleaving across subcarriers as well as a Rayleigh fading channel model with exponentially decaying power profile.
It is disheartening to note that the mobility gap between women and men has continued to widen; while poverty horizon of most women continue to deepen as a result of inadequate spatial interactions. The study examines the interplay between women and public transport system in Nigerian traditional city-Ibadan. A purposive sampling technique was used to administered 203 questionnaires. Data collected were analyzed using simple descriptive technique and correlation analysis. Results reveal that, public transport system in the city is inefficient. The analysis also reveals that inadequate public transport system has significant impact on the livelihoods of women. Findings made it clear that socio-economic variables and operational characteristics are determining factors for the patronage of public transport. Based on findings and analysis; the paper discussed the need for considering the mobility needs of passengers, and emphasised the need for a sustainable public transport and gender planning and analysis in Nigerian public transport planning and management. it also stressed that gendered-based transportation planning and management need to be examined, if the reproductive and productivity roles of women in our society are to be achieved.
