The objective of this paper is to analyze a composite drive shaft for power transmission applications. Composite materials have many applications ranging from automotive to most of the industrial application and numerous advantages due to its high specific strength (strength / density) and high specific modulus (modulus / density), lighter weight and longer life. Analysis of composite drive shaft is carried out to understand the effect of fiber orientation on load carrying capacity (axial loadings, torque and buckling torque) of drive shaft. MODAL analysis is carried out to observe the effect of fiber angle on modal frequencies. Static and Modal analysis is carried out using FEM, results of FEM analysis is further used to develop a regression equation. These developed regression equation can be used for tuning of properties of shaft and understand the behavior with fiber orientation
