The purpose of this article is to describe and define the special features of teaching and learning in the northern areas of Finland, especially in Arctic contexts. The article introduces the essence of Arctic pedagogy by introducing its challenges and goals, possibilities and significance. A model of Arctic pedagogy to be applied in northern education is outlined as a five-level action and teaching tool, which is manifested in learning processes, learning environments, teacherhood, educational leadership, and multi-professionalism. The cornerstones of Arctic pedagogy are adapting, understanding, and analyzing Arctic information in learning processes, student-centered caring teacherhood, wide-ranging networking to support learning, and communalism. The relationship between Arctic information, its implementation through Arctic pedagogy, and the goals of Arctic future skills are discussed.
Impulsive buying behavior can be considered as a way of increasing profit of marketers. Nowadays, the popularity of electronic commerce has gained more attention from researchers and marketers as well. Hence, studying the causes of online impulsive buying behavior is necessary as such study may generate certain innovative ideas or strategies to marketers to increase profit from online market. In this study, the author emphasizes on internal factors (e.g., psychological approach) and external factors (e.g., situational, product and website factors) in studying the impulsive buying behavior. The external factors (e.g., website designs) and internal factors (e.g., affective states) which cause impulsive purchase are interrelated in certain aspects and are hard to separate individually.
Migrant workers, one of vulnerable worker population, are likely to live and spend their lives in poverty an expose to limited chances and options. This study aims to identify factors affecting different state of empowerment using migrant workers’ decisions to promptly respond to labour-related problems as a proxy. This study uses a quantitative approach, Multinomial Logistic Model, as well as a qualitative approach, an analysis of interviews. The study applies Thailand and Japan, as developing and developed countries where sharing same characteristics as net immigrant countries in East and South East Asia. During 2013-2015, a total of 150 migrant workers, 75 migrants in Thailand and 75 migrants in Japan, were interviewed with the focus on low-skilled migrant workers. Though the characteristics of migrant workers in these two countries are generally different, factors affecting migrant workers being in the state of empowerment are indifferent. The result of the regression suggests that an additional year of schooling and holding a proper working permit increase the probability to be empowered. It is clear that those who know what to do but take no action consider themselves having alternative options. The current scheme in promoting labour rights should not only outreach and disseminate about complaint mechanisms to migrant workers, but also emphasize on the effectiveness of the mechanisms, and labour market analyses. Promoting the accessibility of migrant workers to Information and Communication Technology is also a key to better understanding in labour rights, widening their job options in countries of destination and their home country though an easy and timely accessibility and escalating their skills to ensure their better job options and better individual bargaining power with their employers.
In this paper, we are using web service technologies in order to store data and also giving guideline line to people ,and that information is very confidentiality of patient data. Web service is playing a vital role in present scenario. Now days we are seeing web service have a more importance and so many technologies are existing .But in this paper we are using SOA and WSC. SO A means service oriented architecture which makes a communication between the two service and simple pass the data. WSC which means web service coordination which distributed the application actions. The main aim health care application development but health care industry is lagging behind other sectors.
In this paper, the modified simple equation method with the aid of Maple is used to obtain new exact traveling wave solutions of the system of shallow water wave equations, modified Benjamin-Bona-Mahony equation and nonlinear dynamics of microtubules-A new model. When these parameters are taken special values, the solitary wave solutions are derived from the exact traveling wave solutions. It is shown that the modified simple equation method provides an effective and a more powerful mathematical tool for solving nonlinear evolution equations in mathematical physics. Comparison between our results and the wellknown results will be presented.
In this paper, we construct a dynamical system induced by the Adele ring ; based on the dynamical systems induced by -adic number fields; for all primes : We study fundamental operator-theoretic and operator-algebraic properties of the corresponding crossed product operator algebra generated by such a dynamical system, via free probability.
This project aims at creating an effective automated traffic control system to prevent ambulances/emergency service vehicles from getting caught up in traffic, there by decreasing hindrances to vital services both in regular and critical situations. The system is implemented by using the Zig Bee wireless communication protocol for wireless communication, IR speed sensors, GPS technology, secure protocols and analytics to create a smart, secure, energy efficient and a cost-effective solution thus making it a practical solution.
This research work compare and contrast industrial relations practice in two West African countries paying a particular attention to Ghana and Nigeria, showing the area of difference and similarities between the two nations.
The aim of this work is to analyze the effect of financial market anomalies, specifically calendar anomalies, on the behavior of financial investors in terms of decisions and profit. Analyzed in the context of Tunisian financial market into two periods; with two different political regimes, this work examines four calendar effects, which are the weekend effect, the end of the month effect, the January effect and Ramadhan one, contrary to previous studies that have focused on a single effect.
In a highly competitive global environment, customs administration plays a vital role in the growth of international trade and development of the globe by facilitating trade among countries. Its role is also essential in expediting the growth of revenue through imports and exports taxation. This requires efficient and effective customs systems and procedures that can significantly influence the economic competitiveness of a nation. Lesotho being a member of Southern African Customs Union (SACU) and World Trade Organization (WTO) has a remarkable history in Customs Administration (‘CA’). Overtime CA has been a useful strategy of the government for revenue collection and trade facilitation. The country has also undergone social, economic as well as political transformations which have brought significant changes that affected the revenue base and brought a mismatch between the revenue and expenditure. The continuous decline of the customs revenue accompanied by drawbacks in tax collection structures prompted the government to take drastic measures of reforming the then existing structures of customs revenue and tax collection. This was also done with a view to improve Lesotho’s position in the SACU arrangement. This paper then discusses two main aspects: first, CA structures, systems and strategies that have been in place overtime in Lesotho since the last 40 years of independence and beyond, secondly, CA as a strategy to enhance international trade and tax revenue collection in the country. The gist of analysis is on CA and tax revenue collection reforms and their impacts on trade, treating former reforms as part one and recent reforms as part two.
