Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) is a high-speed transmission technique widely studied in wireless networks. Its potential presents it as an ideal solution for high-speed transmission in optical fiber networks. This study presents the OFDM modulation associated with Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (OQPSK) filtered using a filter banks for an optical transmission at the rate of 10 GB/s over 1600 Km in a single mode fiber (SMF). The simulations are performed in the VPI Photonics software environment. The results show that the filtered OFDM/OQPSK provides better transmission performance than the Classical OFDM/QPSK firstly because it does not require equalization to certain distances; secondly distances are greater than those achieved with the conventional OFDM in similar studies. In this study the bandwidth is maximized because we do not use the cyclic prefix (CP). Moreover the complexity of transmitters and receivers is reduced, which shows OFDM/OQPSK as an effective solution to combat the effects of the chromatic dispersion (CD), the polarization mode dispersion (PMD), the inter-symbol interference (ISI) and nonlinearities.
The objective of this study was to analyze the scientific production and training in management accounting of doctors in Brazil. To achieve this objective, six Brazilian accounting journals were selected according to Qualis from CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior –Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education),published from 2001 to 2013, as well as doctoral dissertations in accounting published from 1962 to 2013. The results showed an increase in publications at the beginning of the period analyzed and a slight decrease over the past two years. The training of doctors in management accounting underwent an increase in absolute terms, which in some ways was a reflection of the growth in recent years of doctoral education in accounting in Brazil.
The Transonic Wind Tunnel is used to test aircraft models at speeds from Mach number 0.2 to 1.4. Transonic flows consist of mixed subsonic and supersonic flow regions. Shocks can occur in these flows but often do not have a strong enough pressure gradient to assume flow properties similar to those of supersonic flows. These regions are difficult to model mathematically because they have characteristics of subsonic and supersonic flows. In this regard, the paper is aiming towards the design and analysis of the transonic wind tunnel performance by considering two phases namely automated design and its evaluation. Modern optimization software is combined with isentropic relations; simulations are analyzed to design a Mach 1.2 nozzle with maximum test length. The optimal design has an unconventional shape described as compound curvature, which makes the contour appear slightly wavy in AutoCAD. The same is evaluated and found satisfactory for the proposed modification of the test section in the wind tunnel in fluent analysis.
A field study was undertaken to optimize the planting time for different soybean cultivars in agro-ecological conditions of Faisalabad, Punjab. The experiment was comprised of planting times (21st January, 28th January, 4th February, 11th February and 18th February) and two cultivars (SA 72-60 and Faisal soybean). Replicated three times, the experiment was laid out in randomized complete block design with split plot arrangement having planting time in main-plot and cultivar in subplot. Data were collected on number of pods per plant, number seeds per plant, plant height, 1000- seed weight, seed yield, biological yield, protein percent and oil percent. Statistical analysis of data revealed significant differences among means of traits at different planting date treatments. Cultivars with early planting produced higher yield and quality as compared to the late planting dates. The results revealed that higher numbers of pods per plant and number of seeds per plant were produced by 28th January and Faisal soybean. Similarly maximum seed yield (1647.10 kg ha-1 and 1440.23 kg ha-1) were also produced by 28th January, Faisal soybean and 21st January, Faisal soybean, respectively. Thus 28th January planting was the best for high yield of spring soybean. While, among two cultivars Faisal soybean performed the best in Faisalabad.
To study the issues of medical errors in the private health sector and determine the conviction rate in the decisions by specialty on the defendants from health professions. The total number of decisions issued by the Health Authority within five years 331 resolution and the conviction rate (Number = 192, 58%) were distributed into the following health facilities: private hospitals (n = 248, 74.9%), private clinics (n = 56, 16.9%) and private dispensaries (n = 27, 8.2%). Total 252 out of 845 of defendants health professions were convicted, they are distributed as follows: Doctors (n = 236, 93.7%), nurses and midwives (n = 13, 5.2%), technicians (n = 2, 0.8%) and other professionals (n = 1, 0.4%). The conviction rate in five years is on the rise and thus this is reflected on the trend of medical errors into upward in the private health sector.
Health care domain systems globally face lots of difficulties because of the high amount of risk factors of heart diseases in peoples (WHO, 2013). To reduce risk, improved knowledge based expert systems played an important role and has a contribution towards the development of the healthcare system for cardiovascular disease. To make use of benefits of knowledge based system, it is necessary for health organizations and users; must need to know the fuzzy rule based expert system’s integrity, efficiency, and deployments, which are the open challenges of current fuzzy logic based medical systems. In our proposed system, we have designed a fuzzy rule based expert system and also by using data mining technique we have reduced the total number of attributes. Our system mainly focuses on cardiovascular disease diagnosis, and the dataset taken from UCI (Machine Learning Repository). We explored in the existing work. The majority of the researcher’s experimentation was made on 14 attributes out of 76. While, in our system we took advantage of 6 attributes for system design. In the preliminary stage UCI, data participated in suggested system that will get outcomes. The performance of the system matched with Neural Network and J48 Decision Tree Algorithm.
Software Product Lines are used in many areas, combining to form new technologies and products. A product line is a group of products that share a common development platform and vary by the composition and implementation method for the functionalities. This paper describes the implementation or creation of MobileMedia feature model using FODA (Feature Oriented Domain Analysis) methodology using FeatureIDE eclipse plug-in. The feature model created in this depicts various outlines as feature model as visual model, collaboration diagram view of model, its configuration, FeatureIDE Statistics. Basically the paper shows the concept how SPLs can be viewed as feature diagrams using various tools in order to deal with them. This modelling has been widely used by software product line communities and a number of extensions have been proposed.
Cervical lymphoma is a rare entity that requires differential diagnosis with cervical cancer. Cytology is often insufficient for diagnosis being necessary to perform deep biopsies. There is no standard treatment but most of the treatment rates were based on chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy followed sometimes surgery. We report the case of a patient with non-Hodgkin lymphoma of diffuse large B cell located in the uterine cervix treated with chemotherapy followed by consolidation radiotherapy.
The purpose of this study is to investigate affects of country of origin on branded clothing by female consumers. As expected, regression analysis clearly illustrates the topical relevance of the issue and country of origin has found significant impact on female consumer’s perception of choosing branded clothing. Factor analysis has been performed to identify most preferred factors that led by 26 key factors. This result will help marketer to set strategy by understanding market insights and it might be useful to academicians, manufacturers and other applied researchers now and in the future. This paper could help marketing managers employ promotional techniques that deemphasize, downplay or avoid the COO information in order to prevent or reduce any risks if a country’s image is unfavorable. Conversely, firms may choose to emphasize COO if the country’s image is favorable.
The investigation has been carried out to understand the mechanism of creation and dissolution of ego and in turn the ethical value of the teachings of Lord Krishna. Ethics emphasize on the fact that one is to enjoy only that which is rightfully his. The Lord showed that our body consists of two faculties, one is the soul and the other is the body. Soul gives life force to the body and makes it functional. Soul is also the source of ethics but is neglected to the extent that human beings identify themselves only with their bodies and this leads to the creation of ego. To overcome the problem of creation of ego, the Lord advocated three approaches, namely, karma yoga, gyan yoga and bhakti yoga. The karm yoga is meant for action-oriented, while gyan yoga for the intellectuals and bhakti yoga for persons who have faith in God and surrender to him completely. In case of karm yoga, body is not considered our own but an exaction of God. The karm yogi utilizes his body and his resources for the welfare of others. The case of gyan yoga is slightly different; the gyan yogi gets absorbed in the soul and believes that all things are happening by natural forces. He believes that soul is not the doer, so does not claim any doer ship or ego. The philosophy of bhakti yoga has a totally different mode of functioning. The bhakti yogi works for the happiness of God as he feels that everything belongs to God and not to him. When one follows any one of these approaches there is no way one can be unethical, then only ethics prevail.
