Cloud computing has changed the way people think of using resources. Especially, the IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) allows users to make use of unlimited resources in pay per use fashion. Virtualization is the technology based on which the cloud service providers are able to provide or share computational resources and data centers to users. Though this approach is practical, it throws certain challenges in terms of designing and development of IaaS middleware. One such challenge is the need for deploying thousands of VM instances to meet the requirements of growing number of users. In the process another challenge is to snapshot multiple images and persisting them towards management tasks like stopping VMs temporarily and resuming them as and when required. The presence of data centers in different configurations enables the simultaneous deployment and snapshotting is important. This capability should be coupled with another feature that is the whole mechanism should be hypervisor independent. To achieve this, a new virtual file system is proposed in this paper. This is basing on lazy transfer scheme with VM optimization and object versioning that takes care of multi-snapshotting and multi-deployment simultaneously and effectively. The experiments have shown that the new filing system and related techniques have improved performance, and bandwidth utilization is reduced by 90%.
In this paper an exponential chain ratio and product type estimators in double sampling have been developed for estimating finite population mean of the study variable when the information on another additional auxiliary character is available along with the main auxiliary character. The bias and mean square error of the proposed estimators have been obtained in two different cases. Theoretical and empirical studies have been done to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed strategy with respect to the strategies which utilizes the information on one and two auxiliary characteristics.
In modern industrial societies, women have taken up jobs that take them away from home for better part of the day and this has aroused interest of several scholars in the social sciences. It is in line with this that this paper examined the reasons for women engagement in formal employment and its eventual consequence on the family. The Role and Liberal feminist theories were used to explain the conflicting role of career women. Data were collected from 108 respondents from Intercontinental Bank Plc selected through multi stage sampling techniques using a self designed questionnaire. The study found that women engage in formal employment in order to increase their family’s economic status and that their engagement in formal employment gives them limited time to spend with their families. Women dual roles as wives, mothers and formal sector employees are stressful. It demands that women work twice as hard as their male counterparts in order to excel in both. Men should drop the notion that taking care of the children and over-seeing activities in home to be the sole responsibility of the women and embrace an equal share of these activities.
Royal Bengal Tiger is one of the penetrating threaten animal in Bangladesh forest at Sundarbans. In this work we have had concentrate to establish a robust Knowledgebase for Royal Bengal Tiger. We improve our previous work to achieve efficiency on knowledgebase representation. We have categorized the tigers from others animal from collected data by using Support Vector Machines(SVM) .Manipulating our collected data in a structured way by XML parsing on JAVA platform. Our proposed system generates n-triple by considering parsed data. We proceed on an ontology is constructed by Protégé which containing information about names, places, awards. A straightforward approach of this work to make the knowledgebase representation of Royal Bengal Tiger more reliable on the web. Our experiments show the effectiveness of knowledgebase construction. Complete knowledgebase construction of Royal Bengal Tigers how the efficient out-put. The complete knowledgebase construction helps to integrate the raw data in a structured way. The outcome of our proposed system contains the complete knowledgebase. Our experimental results show the strength of our system by retrieving information from ontology in reliable way.
The intent of this paper is to establish a common fixed point theorem for two pairs of occasionally weakly compatible single and set-valued maps satisfying a strict contractive condition in a non - Archimedean fuzzy metric space.
Human identification by gait has created a great deal of interest in computer vision community due to its advantage of inconspicuous recognition at a relatively far distance. Biometric systems are becoming increasingly important, since they provide more reliable and efficient means of identity verification. Biometric gait Analysis (i.e. recognizing people from the way they walk) is one of the recent attractive topics in biometric research. It has been receiving wide attention in the area of Biometric. In Gait biometric research there are various gait recognition approaches are available. In this paper, the gait recognition approaches such as “Wavelet Descriptor with ICA”, and “Hough transform with PCA” are compared and discussed.
Rural markets in India are blossoming. Very few studies have been carried out in rural India for understanding the behaviour of the rural consumer and then customizing the products in accordance to their needs. A comparative study has been carried out to understand how rural and urban consumers buying behavior differ with respect to different types of influences on their buying behavior. The study was based on the sample of 411 (204 from urban and 207 from rural areas) households across the state selected on the basis of non-probability convenience sampling. Three durable goods from three different product categories Television (entertainment product), Refrigerator (home appliance), and an Automobile (two-wheeler, motorcycle and car/jeep) have been selected for study. Overall there are significant differences between rural and urban consumers for all the select products.
The clinical response to drugs may be affected by the simultaneous administration of other drugs that modify the pharmacokinetics and the disposition profile of medications. Drug metabolism via the cytochrome P450 (CYP) system has emerged as an important determinant in the occurrence of several drug-drug interactions. In our earlier studies, Cryptolepis sanguinolenta was reported to cause sub therapeutic blood levels of dihydroartemisinin of artesunate which could lead to decreased effectiveness, and possibly resistance as a result of herb-drug interactions. However, the role of metabolism in such herb-drug interaction has not been studied.Aim: The present study was therefore aimed at determining the effect of Cryptolepis sanguinolenta administration on the metabolism of artesunate. Methods: Reconstituted freeze dried Cryptolepis sanguinolenta was administered in drinking water at the therapeutic dose of 36 mg/kg body weight for two weeks, followed by a single oral dose of artesunate (150 mg/kg body weight). All the animals were sacrificed by cervical dislocation after 24 hr. Liver was excised and microsomes prepared and activities of PNPH, AmD and NOD were determined as a measure of CYP2E1, CYP2B1 and CYP1A activities respectively. Results: Concurrent administration of C. sanguinolenta and artesunate significantly enhanced the activity of CYP1A.
Exercise is inevitable to keep health in good status. There are few scientific studies to show the differences between different types of exercises in health and disease. In our study we compared the treadmill exercise and bicycle ergometer exercise and their effect on maximum heart rate attained, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in twenty one healthy volunteer aged between eighteen to twenty years. We recorded these subjects’s blood pressure before exercise and after exercise; heart rate before exercise, during exercise and after exercise. Also we enlisted the advantages and disadvantages of treadmill exercise and bicycle ergometer exercise, so that these two types of exercise can be appropriately used for health promotion, diagnosis of diseases and for rehabilitation of the individuals.
This study was a prospective study of cases at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. A total of four in-patients comprising of two male and two female adults of the Endocrinology unit were monitored for the study. Patients’ case notes and drug administration charts were used to obtain necessary drug information in addition to information obtained directly from the patients. The age group distribution of the patients was found to be between 34-64 years. The mean age was 47.5 years. The drug regimen showed that Patients A, B, C and D received a total of 8, 10, 11 and 7 drugs respectively. These included Metformin, Insulin, Glibenclamide and Glimepiride as antidiabetic agents. Other drugs prescribed for coexisting diseases included: Nifedipine, Lisinopril, Alpha-methyldopa and Hydrochlorothiazide as Antihypertensives, Atorvastatin as Lipid-Lowering agents and Ceftriaxone, Lxime, Metronidazole, Ciprofloxacin as Antibiotics.
