The main aim of this study is to demonstrate how important it is for Spain’s public universities to provide information on their intellectual capital in order to satisfy their users’ information needs. So, an empirical study was conducted to analyse the opinion held by the Social Councils of Spain’s public universities regarding the need for Spanish public universities to publish information on their intellectual capital when presenting economic, financial and budgetary information. The results of this research show extensive criticism of the current accounting information model used by public universities in Spain.
Though Habermas model of public sphere was framed for describing the public and sphere at the state-level however, its principles and mechanisms are postulated as relevant to the theory and practices of global public sphere (GPS) and global civil society (GCS). The emerging digital technologies and particularly global connectivity through Internet and social networking have added new dimensions to the existing GPS thereby generating a new public sphere (NPS). The determinants of NPS like globalization, social software etc. do not seem to stand against the Habermas view of public sphere rather stand supportive and enhancing to the principles and requirements of an ideal public sphere both at the national and global levels. This paper unfolds this issue at length by juxtaposing the research findings from the existing research.
The paper is aimed at studying and analyzing the network performance parameters of SIP protocol. SIP is content based protocol, in which various message are required to be transacted so that a session could be created, terminated or modified. Therefore, the objective is to analyze various SIP activities and the delay incurred in session start-up under various network conditions. Proper functioning of IMS platform is dependent on optimum performance of several protocols specified in the standard. Nearly all of the protocols used in IMS are standardized by the IETF. Some of the major protocols are SIP, SDP- signaling protocol, DIAMETERimprovised version of RADIUS protocol,COPS- Common Open Policy Service, H.248- descendant of MEGACo, RTP/RTCPReal Time Protocol/Real Time Control Protocol, etc. Out of all these, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) is the prominent protocol used to create, terminate and modify the sessions initiated by the user. In order to improve the performance parameters, this is the area where most of the research work is centralized. Hence, to study various aspects of SIP protocol with respect to the network performance is of great interest.
Capacitance is the heart of MOSFET because of its application in the real life. Capacitance indicates switching speed of the MOSFET. It is our goal to minimize capacitance as possible as we can in MOSFET. Due to our necessary to compact the Integrated Circuit as possible as we can for getting small electronics devices. Capacitance determine the speed of the IC. Every engineer in this section should know capacitance of his implementing device MOSFET to get exert result from this device. Whenever we deal with 10X10 nm scale or less device of MOSFET. We must be concerned the effect of wave function penetration into device in this stage classical mechanics fails to describe exact result of the system because electron can move in only one direction (say x) where in 3Dimention, it cannot move in other two direction (y, z). i.e. confined in two direction which is not predictable by classical mechanics here quantum mechanics (QM) gives better solution of this problem. Therefore we consider QM in our study. Here we presented how wave function play vital role when you consider small area of trigate MOSFET. This result will be helpful when you are determining capacitance of trigate MOSFET.
This is a swift report on fluorescence and its application as a tool in imaging and microscopy; to properly comprehend this subject, with the aid of the Jablonski diagram, brief descriptions and discussions are given on fluorescence; rhodamine 6G homo-FRET reaction is considered from which both the absorption and emission spectra are drawn on a graph. Additionally, the wealth of applications of fluorescence imaging techniques such as Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Microscopy (FLIM) and Fluorescence Polarisation and Anisotropy techniques are considered. Applications of molecular imaging techniques in cell biology and medical science are mentioned.
Background : Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a leading cause of lower respiratory tract disease in infants and young children. Both the magnitude, intensity of infection and the host response to RSV infection determine the severity and intensity of disease. Objective : Our goal was to evaluate the effect of immune response (RSV IgA) and inflammatory mediators (LTE4), in addition to the influence of host factors on the severity of the disease. Methods : This was a randomized, prospective study in two Iraqi pediatric hospitals. Sixty infants (mean age: 6.99±0.62 ,35 boys & 25 girls) ,with a first episode of acute bronchiolitis were randomly divided into four treatment groups: oxygen plus intravenous fluid, montelukast pediatric chewable tablet, salbutamol given in combination as oral plus nebulized salbutamol, and dexamethasone IV injection. Control infants with non respiratory diseases were also studied for comparisons. The measured parameters was RSV IgA titer, LT-E4 titer, and a variety of environmental and host factors that may contribute to the severity of RSV bronchiolitis.Severity of bronchiolitis was based on the quantization of lowest O2 saturation and the length of hospital stay. Results : There were significant increase in RSV IgA values in patients (1.58 ± 0.24 U/mL) compare to the control (0.36 ± 0,03 U/mL);also there were a significant increase in the leukotriene E 4 values in patients (2.66 ± 0.52 ng/ml) compared to the control infants(0.15 ± 0.007 ng/ml). Age was found to be a significant factor in the severity of infection. The younger an infant was, the more severe the infection tended to be as measured by the lowest oxygen (O2) saturation. We also found that infants exposed to postnatal cigarette smoke from the mother had a lower O2 saturation than those not exposed. Although a history of maternal atopy seemed to be protective. Conclusion : Secretory IgA antibodies level was found to be a good indicator to respiratory syncytial virus infect
South Korea’s President Park Chung-hee was still a controversial figure in Korean history. He was a man who achieved the economic miracle of South Korea while adopting repressive measures to suspend the democracy and human Korea. The nostalgia of Park’s era also remains. Park receives fairly good evaluations from the world. American newspapers at the death of Park Chung-hee provided the objective views on Park Chung-hee. Throughout the newspapers editorials Park was the man who brought the economic miracle of South Korea and a good ally for the U.S. at the time of Cold War. On the other hand, he was another dictator who enjoyed autocratic rule under the U.S. protection. The American views provide the foundation to evaluate Park Chung-hee of today.
Hypertension is the commonest non-communicable disease in Nigeria with a prevalence of about 20-25 per cent in adult Nigerians. This research work examined generic drug substitution and its impact on drug adherence among hypertensive patients attending the Consultant Out-Patient Department of Sobi Specialist Hospital, Ilorin, Nigeria. Self-report adherence, personal interview, structured questionnaires and patients’ prescriptions were used to determine drug adherence and treatment outcomes of 167 hypertensive patients on antihypertensive drugs. Adults between the ages of 40 and 80 years were mostly affected, and women were more vulnerable to the disease. The clinical signs and symptoms mostly reported by the patients include severe headache, chest pain, numbness of extremities and general body weakness. The widely utilized generic antihypertensive agents in the studied hospital include Amlodipine, Methyldopa, Nifedipine, Lisinopril, and constituted 91.6% of all the prescriptions. The high rate of generic drug prescriptions in this hospital coupled with the consistent drug counselling offered to the patients by the pharmacist had greatly improved adherence rate to 67.7%. Generic drug substitution should be encouraged in all tiers of healthcare system to improve drug adherence and stem the tide of hypertension in this society. Also, public enlightenment and education should be strengthened to increase population awareness on the symptoms, risk factors, lifestyle modifications and complications of this silent killer disease.
It has been widely argued that democracy is an imperative for development in the 21st Century Nigeria. Perhaps, it is because the concept has been tested in some societies, particularly in western societies and it worked. The paper argues that one of the reasons democratic institution has not yet been properly rooted in Nigeria is that it has been choked off and smothered by plutocracy. The attendant consequences include, impoverishment of the citizenry, gradual deterioration of established democratic institutions and agencies and high level of criminality, militancy and terrorist-oriented activities.
Gender stereotyping always has and still exists in our society. However, this issue is getting conspicuously serious as gender stereotyping has now reached the young masses, who are much more accustomed to the easy, seemingly effortless influence of the mass media. In this study, the researchers have collectively delved into gender roles in animated movies, specifically. The objective of this research is to comprehend how gender perspectives and gender favouritism influence a particular film’s image of the world and the way narratives are being organized to emphasize the impact of male characters in movies, conducted through the research method of content analysis. The results point to the glaringly obvious scarcity of female characters as compared to male characters. As such, it is safe to assume that the presence of gender equality borders from slim to absolutely none. Should this problem persist, there is a plausible, almost certain chance that youngsters these days will undoubtedly have a skewed viewpoint on gender roles and hence, will only push the effect of gender stereotyping deeper while simultaneously leaving a dent on the hard, dim fight for gender equality.
