One way to understand how a city government works is by looking at who it employs and how its employees are compensated. This data contains the names, job title, and compensation for San Francisco city employees on an annual basis from 2011 to 2014. The analyzed data will be shown in the form of various charts and graphs with respect to 1. Yearly Mean Pay, 2. Mean Pay by Job Type, 3. Pay based on Base Pay, Overtime Pay, Other Pay and Benefits. As the Salary seeking population grows, the data also grows in size. This becomes a challenge for the traditional RDBMS to manage the huge volumes of data. Hence Salary data Analysis can be made using Hive and Map Reduce algorithms to eliminate the challenges faced by the traditional RDBMS.
The general purpose of this study was to identify some socio-cultural factors that affect female students’ College education, and then to indicate intercultural educational issues in line with young female students’ College education in Oromia by taking JCTE as the case study area. The study was a mixed approach investigation which involves index of qualitative variation that measure the dispersion of quantitative way that are available at nominal level variable through triangulating with qualitative inquires. The investigation of this qualitative approach was using purposive sampling through which case studies, personal observation, FGD and semi-structured interview was employed. The information gathered was organized and analyzed using tabulations showing both percentages and index of quantitative variations. The quotation of field narrations were also included. The result indicated that the major barriers to female students’ college education in classroom participation of formal education were both the cultural and traditional values and their prospects for educational opportunities. Traditional beliefs, practices and proverbs perpetuate gender imbalance in terms of educational achievements and classroom performance. The study also found the factors that negatively affect female students’ education in JCTE in emphasizing to pregnancy, lack of female models, low level parental education, and negative parental attitudes towards female students’ education from their very growing up , low value attached to education and sexual harassments by their classmates and male teachers. To ameliorate the existing situation, the study suggested in a way of conclusion about the use of culture, procedures for teacher training, and applications of cultural information to curriculum. Therefore, it was also suggested that a serious consideration in educational teacher training that could be given on the following areas: Knowing the effects of cultural and socioeconomic var
This paper presents a comparison of isolated pad footing with the Beam-Slab Isolated footing. In this paper beams have been introduced in the isolated pad footing to accommodate the tension in the footing. This in return reduces the overall depth of the footing. The design has been carried out to satisfy the Flexural and shear values for the foundation as per IS 456:2000. The diameter of the bar is decided such as to ensure that the area of steel provided is closest to the steel required as per the Limit State Design. Graphs are prepared to analyze the steel and concrete required for varying sizes of the footing (starting from 1m upto 6 m with a 0.5m increment) and comparing the values for 415 and Fe 500 steel values
In this paper we present a system for offline recognition cursive Arabic handwritten text based on Hidden Markov Models (HMMs). The system is analytical without explicit segmentation used embedded training to perform and enhance the character models. Extraction features preceded by baseline estimation are statistical and geometric to integrate both the peculiarities of the text and the pixel distribution characteristics in the word image. These features are modelled using hidden Markov models and trained by embedded training. The experiments on images of the benchmark IFN/ENIT database show that the proposed system improves recognition.
Ubiquitous presence of internet, advent of web 2.0 has made social media tools like blogs, Facebook, Twitter very popular and effective. People interact with each other, share their ideas, opinions, interests and personal information. These user comments are used for finding the sentiments and also add financial, commercial and social values. However, due to the enormous amount of user generated data, it is an expensive process to analyze the data manually. Increase in activity of opinion mining and sentiment analysis, challenges are getting added every day. There is a need for automated analysis techniques to extract sentiments and opinions conveyed in the user-comments. Sentiment analysis, also known as opinion mining is the computational study of sentiments and opinions conveyed in natural language for the purpose of decision making. Preprocessing data play a vital role in getting accurate sentiment analysis results. Extracting opinion target words provide fine-grained analysis on the customer reviews. The labeled data required for training a classifier is expensive and hence to over come, Domain Adaptation technique is used. In this technique, Single classifier is designed to classify homogeneous and heterogeneous input from di_erent domain. Sentiment Dictionary used to find the opinion about a word need to be consistent and a number of techniques are used to check the consistency of the dictionaries. This paper focuses on the survey of the existing methods of Sentiment analysis and Opinion mining techniques from social media.
This study attempts to present a literature review for accounting conservatism that is considered one as of the most ancient and debatable terms in accounting research. Based on several academic studies the theoretical background propose an examination for accounting conservatism which consists of definition, explanations for existence raisons of accounting conservatism and gives measurement models in order to provide a better insight. It is also contribute on the growing literature investigating the role of conditional conservatism in the value of equity markets. Starting from the idea that the conditional accounting conservatism is characterized by an asymmetric recognition of positive and negative economic news we present respectively some sources of conditional accounting conservatism; the goodwill impairment, long-lived asset impairment, inventory recorded at the lower of cost or market and asymmetry in gain/loss contingencies.
This study evaluated the quality of bread fortified with sesame seed. Breads with added full fat and defatted sesame seed meals were baked and analysed for nutrient compositions, physical and sensory properties and storage stability. Full fat and defatted sesame seed meal respectively had 31.28% and 46.00% carbohydrate, 23.07% and 29.9% protein, 31.05% and 11.89% fat, and 13.20% and 12.14% crude fibre. Fortification with sesame seed improved the nutrient composition, storage stability, physical and sensory properties of bread. Fortification with 20% full fat or defatted sesame seed flours respectively improved protein from 11.80% to 13.93% or 14.89%, crude fibre from 1.63% to 3.44% or 5.25%, fat from 0.15% to 6.80% or 3.85%, but decreased carbohydrate from 55.44% to 50.37% and 48.68% respectively. Sensory scores (colour, texture, flavour, and overall acceptability), loaf and specific volume and shelf life of bread increased with increasing sesame seed addition.
The rise in obesity and diabetes in various countries have reached epidemic proportions [1]with the inability of the brain to regulate body weight and energy balance in the early part of life and related to neurodegenerative disease in these countries. Neurons in the brain become sensitive to Western diets with alterations in neurons that lead to brain circuitry disorders or feeding signals [2]. In insulin resistance and neurodegenerative diseases the astrocyte-neuron interaction is defective in the brain [3] and consumption of a Western diet does not allow neurons to metabolize glucose and fatty acids but instead leads to mitochondrial apoptosis and programmed neuron death. In the periphery in global communities liver steatosis can be reversible with hepatocyte mitochondria still able to metabolize fatty acids and glucose after consumption of a healthy low calorie diet but in the brain neuron mitochondria may not continue with mitochondrial biogenesis but continue to undergo apoptosis with neuron death. Networks between various brain cells involve membrane and nuclear lipid signals with diets involved in the regulation, transmission and communication between various brain cells. The three main types of glial cells are the astrocytes, oligodendrocytes and microglia with astrocytes involved with the maintenance of endothelial cells in brain capillaries and the blood brain barrier (BBB) to prevent toxic substances and their entry into the brain with the prevention of mitochondrial apoptosis in neurons. Astrocytes have been shown to be important to neuron lifespan and survival [4,5] with diets and lifestyle involved with epigenetic modification that disrupt astrocyte signalling [3] involved in the maintenance of neurons in individuals in global populations. Nutritional diets that prevent epigenetic alterations include DNA methylation, covalent histone modification and non-coding RNAs that are involved in gene activation and repression with chromatin structure modifica
The purpose of this article is to expose the necessity for large national private business organizations in the Republic of Honduras. A comparison was made with the early industrialized nations of the United Kingdom and the United States whose economies necessitated large private enterprises in order to attract large investments and professional management. It was proposed in the article that the government of Honduras selectively privatizes its large enterprises that are not essential to the defense and security of the country and are not natural monopolies. It was also suggested that the government needs to encourage and support the formation of new large private enterprises in order to create a competitive economy on a national, regional and global basis.
Einstein’s special relativity theory published in 1905 was really based not on two principles, but on three principles. The first principle was the principle of relativity (Einstein’s first postulate). The so called second Einstein’s postulate can be separated in two independent principles: 1. Light emitted by a source being at rest in a “stationary” inertial reference frame moves in this frame at the speed 0 с = 299792458 m/s; 2. Light speed in a “moving” inertial reference frame is also equal to the same value 0 с . My purpose consists in decreasing number of Einstein’s postulates by refusal from the law of independence of light speed upon light source speed that is actually the third Einstein’s principle. Equality of time measurement units in two light clocks of identical design moving each with respect another one uniformly and rectilinearly is a consequence from the relativity principle and this equality discards the moving clock retardation with respect to a stationary clock. Logunov’s method is used for deriving new transformation instead of Lorentzian one. My theory based on two principles (relativity principle and the PACS:03.30.+p, 06.30.Gv 2 principle of light speed in a stationary inertial reference frame from an immovable source) does not forbid superlight speeds. Besides the known Lorentzian speed of particles motion, the Galilean speed varying from zero to infinity is used. Instead of independence of particle electrical charge value resulting from Lorentzian transformation, a law of dependence of particle electrical charge value upon particle speed is derived. The experiment by Neddermeyer and Anderson in 1938 is interpreted as a confirmation of superlight speeds and dependence of electric charge upon particles speed existence in nature. Formulas of new particle dynamics are derived from new theory transformation.
