4 -acetyl -3-(4-substitutedphenylamino)- isoxazole - 5(2H)-one, substituted on nitrogen with a 2-chlorobenzo[d] oxazole group, reacts with triethylamine (TEA) in ethanol under reflux conditions to provide a convenient synthesis of 1-(2-(4-substitutedphenylamino)-imidazo-[2,1-b]-benzoxazol- 3-yl)-ethanone.
There are many surgical operations for the treatment of pilonidalis cyst. The results are controversial and surgical infections as recurrences are common complications. We suggest a new surgical technique consists in two operating times: the first (“dirty”) of cyst exeresis and the second (“clean”) of direct suture. The first results on 82 patients show only 7.3% of wound opening, 1.2% of surgical infections and no recurrence s. More studies are needed to verify this first results.
This work consists of modeling, simulation and multiple models control of an industrial absorption packed column designated to remove CO2, from natural gas. The multiple models approach is an elegant way of turning nonlinear problems into linear ones. In this paper, we used the output feedback distributed control (ODC) coupled with local linearization of the model of the absorption packed column. We compared the results with those obtained with the traditional PID control and the results were satisfactory.
The Paper provides an overview of the Tuareg rebellion in Northern Mali with particular reference to conditions that are conducive to terrorist networks infiltration of the age-long insurrection in the region. In this regard, the roles played by the infiltration of Al-Qaeda in Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), the return of the Migrant workers and Tuareg combatants from Libya as well as the 22 March mutiny and Military coup in the Tuareg rebellion culminating in the total collapse of north Mali and the unilateral declaration of the independence of the State of Azawad were highlighted. Noting that the problem in Northern Mali is not that of religious extremism or terrorism and that Military answer cannot be an effective long-term strategy or solution to the recurrent rebellion in the region, the Paper indicates that the solution to the problem lies in recognizing the fact that the Tuaregs have legitimate political, socio-economic, security, environmental, humanitarian and human rights grievances that must be addressed, without which the Tuareg rebellion will continue to resonate for some time to come
In this paper we have established certain indefinite integrals involving Harmonic Number. The results represent here are assume to be new.
Adjustable speed drive system requires variable voltage and frequency supply which is invariably obtained from a three-phase voltage source inverter (VSI). A number of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) schemes are used to obtain variable voltage and frequency supply from an inverter. The most widely used PWM schemes for a three-phase VSI are carrier-based sinusoidal PWM and space vector PWM (SVPWM). This paper develops discontinuous PWM (DPWM) techniques for a voltage source inverter (VSI). Performance is evaluated in terms of total harmonic distortion (THD) in the output phase voltages. A significant reduction in switching losses is observed by adopting the proposed PWM schemes. The simulation and experimental results are provided to validate the concept.
Although health care is a vital problem, in recent years mobile communication has become a widespread part and parcel of everyday life even in the rural areas of developing countries. This paper proposed a model to include the mobile communication for monitoring vital signs of health such as blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature; blood glucose level and sends result as Short Message Service (SMS) for the physician so as to monitor their patients continuously. Cuffless pressure sensing transducer is taken into consideration to measure pressure pulse and then combined with oscillometric method to measure Blood Pressure (BP). Availability of different sensors and measurement techniques to determine heart rate is presented. Conventional glucometry in low cost electronics and body temperature measurement using electronic thermistor is also described here. Sensed parameters are processed and stored into an array in ARM7 processor and sent via GSM SIM300 Modem. This portable vital sensing system is useful to analyze daily health condition; can be used both in home and hospital to prevent Hypertension, Heart Attack and to control Diabetes.
A combined geophysical survey involving the Very Low Frequency Electromagnetic and the Electrical resistivity survey has been carried out in the Teaching and Research Farm of the Afe Babalola University along Ado – Ikare road, Ado Ekiti with a view to determining the subsurface layers and thickness of the overburden as a means to appraising the ground water potential in the study area. Seventeen (17) west east traverses were established from which VLF –Electromagnetic data were acquired at a station interval of 5m each, the modeling and interpretation results from these were used to delimit the farm area into a total of 29 points from where vertical electrical soundings were carried out for further detailed survey using the Schlumberger electrode array configuration. The sounding data was processed and interpreted using WINRESIST interpretation software.
Nigeria is the only country in the world that is rich in oil and other mineral resources and yet its citizens remain at the very lowest ladder of the poorest people in earth. It is estimated that most Nigerians live on less than a (Us) dollar in a day. This poverty situation has affected the general perception and of doing things among Nigerian so negatively that it has become a problem in Nigeria mostly at the grassroots level. Although poverty is a Universal phenomenon that affect the Socio-economic and political well being of its victims whether in developed or underdeveloped countries however, statistics and data show that poverty in poor countries is absolute and more pronounced in rural areas due to lack of accountability and good governance among council officials. Since our independence the rural folks that constitute significant segment of the Nigerian Society live in abject and hopeless poverty and are neglected in terms of socioeconomic and political wellbeing. There is therefore an urgent need for elected local government officials to be accountable and ethical imperative for good governance at the grassroots levels. This paper has provided an ethical and empirical analysis of the problems, and points out that poverty cannot be totally eradicated but it can be alleviated and that its rest on transparency and good governance at the grassroots in Nigeria.
Organizational citizenship behavior has always been of paramount importance for organizations to work at their best and despite the huge amount of research on it little is known of the processes that can ensure the salvation of such behavior. The present study has laid down a blueprint of how the implicit processes affect OCBs. In this study we have proposed a complete process by which extra-role behaviors can be ensured by the use of socialization tactics regardless of personality traits of the employees. Furthermore, organizational commitment has been proposed to act as a lubricant between socialization tactics and OCB. The implications for future research are proposed for an empirical evidence of the conceptual model proposed after a critical analysis of literature.
