Th ispaper describes the concept of automatic segmentation of continuous speech signal. Thelanguage used forsegmentation is the most widely spoken language i.e. Punjabi. Like all other Indianlanguages, Punjabi is a syllabic language, thus syllables are selected as the basic unit of segmentation. Thetraditional way of representing the speech signal is in termsof features derived from short - time Fourieranalysis. It is difficult to compute the phase and processing the phase function from the FT phase.Byprocessing the derivative of the FT phase, the information in the short - time FT phase function can beextrac ted. This paper describes the process of automatic segmentation of speech using group delaytechnique. This includes segmentation of continuous Punjabi speech into syllable like units by using the highresolution properties of group delay. This group delay function is found to be a better representative of the STEfunction for syllable boundary detection.
This paper explores the impact of church marketing and its effect on church attendance growth. Evidence was gathered from the analysis of a randomly-drawn sample size of 132 which involves 12 pastors, and 120 members from six charismatic churches. Results from the calculated Pearson correlation indicates that positive relationship exist between ‘church promotion’ and church attendance growth although regression results show that among all the variables considered in the study, it is ‘Radio PR’ that plays a major role in influencing the growth of churches in Ghana. The study concludes that ‘Radio PR tool’ has been the most effective tool influencing church attendance growth in Ghana.
The study was conducted with an aim of developing a genotype independent efficient in vitro regeneration system for Canola (Brassica napus L.) that is not grown in Bangladesh. Plant regeneration was achieved through embryogenic callus production from hypocotyls and cotyledonary leaves with petioles. The optimum medium for callus induction was found with 0.5 mgl-1 2, 4- dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4-D). The best shooting medium for canola contained 3.0 mgl-1 benzyl amino purine (BAP), 0.1 mgl-1 naphtalene acetic acid (NAA), and 5.0 mgl-1 AgNO3 and produced maximum number of shoots when kinetin was used at a concentration of 0.5 mgl- 1. The profound positive effect of AgNO3 for Canola was found for callogenesis at 0.5 mgl-1 and for regeneration at 5.0 mgl-1. In vitro regenerated shoots of canola produced well developed root system on both the media with 2.5 mgl-1 NAA and 1.0 mgl-1 indole 3-butyric acid (IBA).
Corporate marketing planning is the process by which an organization sets its long-term priorities regarding products and markets in order to enhance the value of the overall company. Mobile agents have special characteristics which can help intrusion detection in several ways. The use of mobile codes and mobile agent based computing paradigms has been proposed in several researches till date. In this paper we try to present a scope for the possible association of Mobile Agents in the field of network security and management.
In this paper, an improved energy efficient PEGASIS based protocol (PEGASIS-E) has been proposed. PEGASIS-E uses average distance among the sensor nodes as the criteria for chaining, thereby providing better performance in terms of energy dissipation and amount of information sent to BS. The simulation results obtained show that PEGASIS-E gives an increase in the network lifetime as compared to PEGASIS.
In india there are many barriers to initiation of breast feeding within one hour of birth. This study was done with the aim of evaluating whether verbal counseling of pregnant women during the antenatal period can help improve the incidence of early initiation of breast feeding. A prospective, questionnaire based study including 100 pregnant females, was conducted a tertiary care hospital of Delhi. The patients were randomly allotted to two groups. Group A received verbal antenatal counseling regarding benefits of early intiation and group B did not. The proportion of women initiating breast feeding within one hour of birth was then assessed and both groups were compared. Results: In group A (conselled group) 58 % women intiated breast feeding within one hour of birth while in the control group (without conselling) 32 % women did early intiation. The difference was statistically significant. (p= 0.0090 Verbal counseling is a simple inexpensive intervention that can be easily done during antenatal visits to motivate pregnant women for early intitation of breast feeding but is sadly often overlooked. This study shows that simple measures like verbal counseling can improve the early initiation of breast feeding.
