Introduction: Mucocele of the appendix is a rare lesion which denotes a distension of the lumen due to accumulation of mucoid substance. Material and Methods: This study aimed to evaluate short-term outcomes of single incision laparoscopic ileocecal resection forlow-grade appendiceal mucinous neoplasm (LAMN).This study represents a single-center, retrospective, observational case series analysis. Between January 2011 and July 2015, 9 patients with preoperative appendiceal mucinous neoplasm underwent SILS at our institution. Results: In this retrospective study, the data of 9 consecutive patients with a mean age of 70 years were analyzed. Pathological findings is 6 LAMN, 1 appendiceal cancer, and 2 appendicitis. The median operative time was 152 minutes, and the median blood loss was little. No conversions to open surgery or intraoperative complications occurred. Postoperative complication is 1 anastomosis of leakage. In conclusion, it is thought that minimally invasive procedures, including single incision laparoscopic ileocecal resection, for LAMN.
Our founder Quaid–e-Azam was very much interested in the Islamic banking in our country. The prime objective of state bank is to remove interest system from the Pakistan. In 1970 s Islamic banking was not famous, but at the start of twenty century it is very common in all over the world. Islamic banking is account value approximately USD 500 billion. It is growing with the ratio of 11-15%. Islamic banking is flourishing dynamically in also Pakistan like other countries, since January, 1981 it is very famous in Pakistan. All over the world financial stability has a crucial role. From the last 30 years Islamic banking has scope in the world. At this time, there are almost 200 Islamic banks which are providing the Shariah compliant we analyzed the strength of Islamic banks with the help of AID model. Our results have shown that Islamic banking is the milestone for the future Islamic banking. In this paper, we have taken GIB as the dependent variable and SC, IV, DV, ROA as the dependent variables.
Electronic Support measures (ESM) system is used to measure the parameters of radar emission in the operating frequency range along with pulse width, pulse repetition frequency, antenna scan period, signal strength, direction of arrival and more. These systems are installed in warships, aircrafts and submarines. The radar parameters along with their threat levels are to be made available to operator during the peace and wartime operations. In the modern ESM systems these parameters are to be measured instantaneously with great accuracies and instantaneously for tactical purposes. Different techniques are used for measuring different parameters of radar signals. Receiver measure these parameters in various parallel circuits and ensure the entire measured data is available less than 200ns for each pulse which is required for further processing. The BITE processor controls various operations of these parallel receivers. It controls the operation of system to ensure reliable performance. The BITE processor receives the signal from the ESM processor and generates it in the specified number of bits. It also interfaces ESM processors and antenna processors.
This paper reports on application of Complete Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition (CEEMD) technique to pre-process Electro-Oculogram (EOG) signals before eye blink detection technique is implemented. EOG is a non-stationary signal which is affected by different kinds of interferences. During the time of recording EOG signal gets contaminated by Electromyography (EMG) signal. In this paper CEEMD is used to decompose the EOG signal into several intrinsic mode functions (IMFs). After thresholding each IMF the signal is reconstructed using all of the IMFs. The resulting denoised signal is then used to detect eye blink
Title-holding is an age long practice before the penetration of Islam in Egbaland, an area predominantly inhabited by the Yoruba speaking people of Ogun State, Nigeria. The acceptance of Islam by the Egbas reformed, to a large extent, the socio-religious and cultural lives of the people. The Yoruba traditional systems of marriage, naming and burial rites were, among others, influenced and reformed by Islam. However, a good number of the Egbas, like other Yoruba tribes which profess Islam, still retain some of their cultural beliefs and traditions. Consequently, there was an infiltration of Yoruba tradition and culture on certain Islamic practices and rites such as marriage, naming and funeral rites. Such infiltration can also be noticed in title-holding among the people. This paper, therefore, critically appraises the fusion of the Yoruba traditional elements to the Islamic practice of the title-holding among Egba Muslims. The paper adopts the historical approach establishing the institutionalization of titleholding in Islam. It then x-rays the practice of title-holding among the people. The paper then considers the similarities between the Muslim titles and the traditional titles patterned along the traditional set up among the four sections of the people. Realizing the fact that title-holding has become a firmly rooted institution among the Egba Muslims, the paper offers a number of recommendations for the restructure of the institution for better administration of the people and further development of Islam in Egbaland in particular and Yorubaland in general.
This study examined the effect of leadership style (transformational and transactional) on turnover intention of employees in Westec Security Systems Ghana Limited. The study was quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical in nature. Structured questionnaires was used for the data collection. Two hundred and fifty eight (258) questionnaires were returned by respondents out of 265 administered. The findings indicated a significant negative relationship between affective commitment and turnover intention (β= -.226, p<.001), continuance commitment and turnover intention (β= -.148, p < .01), and normative commitment and turnover intention (β= -.121, p < .001).
A new low profile and broadband monopolar patch antenna is proposed. Previously, long rectangular patch antennas have been designed with a compact structure and high gain, but these antennas do not have the required monopolar radiation pattern. On the other hand there have been patches designed to have wide bandwidth by employing thick substrates. However, the profile of such antennas may be too high for certain applications. We propose a low profile patch antenna with wide bandwidth, high gain, high directivity and monopole like radiation pattern. The proposed antenna has a bandwidth of 1.396% and gain of 4.75 dBi with monopole like radiation pattern at 5.156 GHz for an infinite ground plane. Using Defected Ground Structure (DGS) resonant frequencies are obtained at 3.836, 5.18 and 6.644 GHz, with bandwidth of 18.902% and gain of 8.66 dBi.
This study analysed the supply side factors influencing employability of fresh higher learning graduates in Tanzania taking Arusha city as a case study. The snowballing procedure was used to obtain 80 respondents who were used for analysis. Primary and secondary data was collected using structured interview, observation and documentary review. In particular, the study used logistic regression analysis to model the relationship between independent variables and the dependent variable. Employability in the study area depends on curricula factors and demographic characteristics of fresh graduates in Tanzania. The results shows that, only two variables used in assessing employability were significant at (P<0.05). Among those only one demographic characteristics which was sex of graduates and one curricula factor which was knowledge of practical experience obtained through field practical/ placement, study tours and campus experts visits showing to have higher chances of employment as higher learning graduates need to have application of such knowledge while other factors was insignificant at P=0.05 (P>0.05). The measures to be taken to address employability of fresh higher learning graduates in the study area are promoting internships, placements and work based learning followed by involving employers in committees and policy on employability and lastly conducting employability awards and programmes.
Background: Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a multisystem injury with life-threatening complications. Bone demineralization & renal complications have serious consequences for the affected person. It is hypothesized that verticalisation along with early mobilization reduces skeletal & renal complications. Methodology: 48 subjects (36 patients+12 controls) participated in this study. The patients were divided into groups A, B & C and the controls were in Group D. Basal parameters (BP, PR, RR) were recorded and Urine samples were sent for analysis. Group A was treated with only limb exercises & Group B was given limb exercises & tilt table standing. Group C had chronic patients to visualize the longterm effect of physical rehabilitation & body’s attempt at bone mineral homeostasis on urinary parameters. Results: Significant changes were noted in the values of urine calcium, inorganic phosphate, hydroxyproline & serum enzyme alkaline phosphatase among groups A, B & C when compare with D.
