Day by day, faith of people on herbal medicine increases due to the side effect of synthetic drugs; this has resulted into people falling back to the traditional knowledge of plant for their health care. Certain local practitioner and traditional healers use the fruits of Citrus aurantium var. Dulcis L pulps in various disease management and so, they advise to eat the pulps along with the drinking of the juice. The present study deals with preliminary phytochemical analysis of the fruit of Citrus aurantium var. Dulcis L pulp using 95% ethanol for its extraction. The fruits of Citrus aurantium var. Dulcis L pulp ethanolic extract revealed the presence of all tested phytochemical compounds except protein and glycoside. These include Alkaloids, Tannins, Phenolic, Quinine, Reducing Sugar, Coumarins, Flavonoids, Saponins, and Steroids. During the analysis, the quantitative fractionation of the ethanolic extract showed a reasonable amount of saturated hexane fraction (40g), unsaturated hexane fraction (2.0g), methanolic fraction (1.3g), acidic fraction (1.2g) and basic fraction (0.3g).
The purpose of this paper is to clearly present TQM principles and characteristics initiated by TQM founders and to review the literature that witnesses TQM success as well as failure in higher education and attempts to modify the TQM model to fit the higher education context. The higher education total quality management model and its impact on the university including professional autonomy and scholarly activities are examined in order to study its positive and negative effects. In order to understand TQM principles and its applicability or inapplicability to the higher education context, the TQM principles are studied as developed by the main TQM scholars. The founders of TQM basically initiated it in manufacturing, yet this paper studies this literature in order to give a comprehensive picture of TQM so as to make its principles clear for the sake of studying its implementation in higher education. This paper critically reviews the literature of TQM implementation in higher education, and this literature is divided among scholars who defend TQM in higher educationand scholars who argue that this management system cannot be applied in the public sector, and specifically in higher education.
Amidst the great revolution in China’s education system, promoting critical thinking in school education to prepare students for the needs of modern world has been advocated by more and more educators. Critical thinking is a learned skill that needs to be cultivated by effective instruction. Research suggest that teacher questioning plays an important role in promoting students’ critical thinking through classroom interaction. This article reviews literature on how critical thinking relates to teacher questioning instructional approach and advocates effective use of teacher questioning technique in college English class to actively engage students in the learning process and guide them to critical thinking.
A novel approach has been presented to compute the probabilities of unsuccessful handovers based number of free channels available in the target AP and number of free channels available plus based on the mobility of mobile device. The number of free channels in the AP is 16 and the mobility of the mobile device in the 8 different directions is considered. The directions of movement are 0, 45, 90, 135, 180, 215, 270 and 315 that a mobile can take a turn to. If the mobile device is handed over to the target AP based on the movement of the mobile device, then the proposed model can be used to compute the probabilities of the unsuccessful handover if the number of free channels in the target AP is different than expected with respect to the host AP. The probabilities of the incorrect decision is plotted for the cases of mobile device moving in a direction normal to the boundary and moving along the boundary are plotted.
Objective: Research was conducted to evaluate advantages and challenges to using telehealth medicine. Technology is discussed in relation to ease of healthcare provider use and client use. Ethical issues were evaluated for issues concerning safety and surveillance. Method: Reviews of literature using nursing data base (ProQuest-Health and Medical Complete) with the term telehealth in nursing was used. Limits used to narrow the search were full text, peer reviewed, English language, human only and dates between 2011 and 2014. Results: The literature search located 34 articles from ProQuest. A total of 7 articles that support advantages or disadvantages to using telehealth were used. Conclusion: The articles had mixed result for advantages and challenges at the healthcare provider level and the patient level. Issues with weak signals, misinterpreted data, and patient reading errors were evaluated for safety issues. Several clients and caretakers failed to report results during studies hindering outcomes. Client satisfaction and quality of life were addressed to evaluate the client and family views of telehealth medicine.
The aim of this research is to identify the factors responsible for the usage and adoption of credit card. It’s an explanatory research, structured questionnaire was used to collect the data. Moreover, non-probability convenience sampling method was used. Research findings indicates that awareness has the highest impact in creating a huge market for credit card. Also, cost factor is correlated with the usage of credit card; there exists a relationship between these two variables. Moreover, the providers of this service should lower the interest rate. The facilities provided by the bank like easy access to money, availability of cash and international acceptance is another feature that should be more focused. Individual’s life style and religious aspect has the lowest impact and have the weakest relation with the usage of credit cards. This research will help the consumer bankers, to develop an improved product proposition and better communication plan.
Introduction & back ground: Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) develops with the inappropriate use, which includes the wrong indication, mode of use, and the poor adherence of the prescribed drugs. Knowledge is the first step in modifying behaviour in relation to physician’s adherence to antibiotics prescription practice. Methods: We did a cross sectional survey of 737 doctors at three tertiary care teaching hospital to assess their Knowledge, perception and attitude regarding Antimicrobial resistance. Anaesthetists, Pre & para clinical doctors who were general practitioners also participated in the survey. Results: About 93% of doctors strongly agreed /agreed that AMR is a worldwide problem; only 75% rated that it’s a problem in their institution. Nearly 85% doctors believed that inappropriate antibiotics use were important cause of Resistance. Also only 81% agreed that poor infection control measures & poor isolation precautions contribute to AMR. Another survey following a CME showed that educational intervention plays an important role in updating clinicians AMR knowledge.
This paper seeks to explore the dynamic relationships between cognitive, affective, and psychomotor components of EFL learners in the classroom, to work out solutions to the problems encountered by those reticent learners. This paper also attempts to describe the underlying dynamic of the three components by borrowing the ideas from physics and mathematics such as Newton’s three laws along with important concepts from vector calculus ( ∇ - del, ∇• f ,∇× f ) in order to determine the relative rates (gradient), level of diversity, and level of curl among the three components. The description on the basis of threedimensional coordinates helps clarify the complexity involved in the types of reticent EFL learners, each of which features unique combinations of the three components, and specific instructional approaches of different orientations (cognitive, affective, and behavioral, or combined) are suggested such as Jigsaw, Vygotsky’s social-constructive, content-based, taskbased, competence-based, and operant conditioning, and the like, to deal with EFL reticent learners of different types. The model presented in this paper ushers more empirical studies on relevant issues in EFL instruction.
