In this work, the influence of sodium chloride (solute) concentration on the nutritional quality of osmotically dehydrated Catfish and beef were evaluated, using vitamin C as quality marker. Results show that at 95% confidence interval, NaCl concentrations play significant role in the stability of vitamin C in both catfish muscle and beef during osmotic dehydration. The vitamin C value of catfish degraded from 20.5% to 88.76% for corresponding NaCl concentration levels of 10% to 90% respectively. For beef, 18.46% to 69.23% reduction of vitamin C was recorded for respective 10% to 90% NaCl concentration. It is therefore advised that if sodium chloride must be used as solute in the osmotic dehydration of the above agricultural products, then, the dehydrated products must be fortified with adequate vitamin C before consumption.
The effect of sodium chloride (solute) concentration and immersion time on weight reduction (WR), water loss (WL), solid gain (SG), mass shrinkage ratio (SR) and dehydration efficiency index (EI) on Catfish during osmotic dehydration were studied. Results show that, at 95% confidence level, all the above kinetic parameters were significantly affected by both immersion time and solute concentration levels. However, F7 which contains 70% sodium chloride and 30% water presented the best results in all kinetic parameters investigated and therefore recommended.
The study area is the Hakaluki Haor which is the second largest wet land of Bangladesh. It spans over the districts of Moulvibazar and Sylhet in northeast Bangladesh. The study was focused in the exploration of peat reserve, reconstruction of the paleo-environment as well as the utilization of the peat resources. Peat is found randomly from 0.5 m to 7 m below the surface and 1 m to 11 m thickness at over 40 beels as well as small plain lands of 90 km2 area of Hakaluki Haor. The total reserve of peat is 282 million ton in wet condition and 112 million ton in dry condition. The peat deposits of Hakaluki Haor area is the largest peat reserves of the Bangladesh. Peat bearing Hakaluki Haor is a low-lying wet land which geological term is synclinal depression. It may be a syncline between two anticlines which was filled with sediments as well as various plant materials derived from the hilly region (anticline) on both sides (west and east) of the Haor.
Nowadays information and communication technologies (ICT) in the education sector keeping very important role to modernize and updated the technology into the educational activities. There is a direct social and economic value of ICT education in rural Bangladesh. As the rural people have limited access to resources and public areas due to socio-economic situation, ICT is identified as the key to the re-invention of governments in developing countries, like Bangladesh. For the development of the rural people as well as the country, needs more awareness on ICT education. The rural people suffer from severe discrimination due to lack of information and burden of poverty. This paper made an effort to determine the present status of access to ICT education in rural sector. In this study, I have selected 119 schools (both primary and secondary level) in rural area and conducted a survey on teachers and students. On the base of the primary data, we tried to draw the present circumstances of using ICT in education system in rural Bangladesh.
QoS (Quality of Service) aware spectrum sensing and channel allocation in cognitive radio wireless mesh networks is a continuous practice due to the divergent scope of communication in wireless mesh networks. Henceforth the current research is moving in a direction to find effective solutions towards QoS aware spectrum sensing and channel allocation. But all of these solutions are specific to one or two QoS factors. According to the real-time practices the QoS assessment by one or two factors is impractical.
Information technology has blessed the current scientific era with the promising initiatives that are un-match able with the past. The range of impact is diversified in nature and massive in scale. Information Technology Enabled Services (ITES) have emerged over time in many disciplines. ITES are becoming increasingly prevalent in the global economy. Due to the growing importance of ITES Service Science has emerged as a fundamental area in Information Systems (IS) research and it combines technical and managerial knowledge under the umbrella of the more popular interdisciplinary approach of Service Science Management and Engineering (SSME). Along with the emergence of the ITES the question to measure the quality has also arisen. The measurement of ITES quality in different areas requires different factors to be considered. This paper addresses the identification of the factors for measuring the quality of ITES in higher education institutes in Saudi Arabia. The paper unleashes number of factors that can be used to measure the quality of ITES in higher education institutions.
This paper examines how television advertisement is linked with children’s behavioral in today’s children from Jaffna district after the post-war market situation. We examine whether these children paying attention television on advertisements are influenced with characteristics of the child’s early home environment and parental behaviors. This research explored managerial implications by using qualitative approach; data were collected by way of purposive sampling method as of 10 parents from Jaffna district by using preset questions based on a primary interview questions as openended question format and codes were developed by the researcher. This paper is a key resource for marketing practitioners wanting to focus on future quandary regarding unconstructive children’s behaviors shaped by television advertisement.
Genetic evaluation was estimated for salt tolerance between the selected wheat genotype through plant breeding program and local cultivar by using random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD-PCR reaction) with two selected primers (OP1-01 and GB8). According to the amplification results, the genetic distance, Dendrogram illustrated genetic fingerprint and relationships between the selected genotype (Dijila) and local cultivar (Tamooze-2) were determent under non and saline condition. Also the chlorophyll content and organic compounds of the upper leaves were measured.
This study offers a pioneering description of non-conventional organizations (NCOs), enterprises which the authors suggest provide potential templates for the structure and operation of organizations of the future. Using established definitions of what constitutes an entrepreneur, the authors establish two criteria by which an organization might be judged as being an NCO, including the notion of “absolute uniqueness” and, according to the evolutionary model, the ability to pass on their non-conventional solutions to organizations of the future. The authors identify NCOs of the past and propose candidate NCOs of the present.
